LOL one day after one of these instances, she was telling me to watch out for others on the road. I pulled up this video to show her and told her she's the type of person I need to watch out for

    well...to prove your point...

I mostly notice the orange vests of road construction workers, and pay almost no attention to the yellow vests of utility workers lol

wonder if that's because cones and much of the time signage is orange too, or i just see the orange vests more.

Well took the Harley out with the lowered rear suspension. Not enough travel and bottomed out over bumps a couple times. Nothing hit on the bike just the shocks. Well I came home to shorten the shocks to raise it up an inch and found a problem with the shocks. Now mind you these are cheap ass Chinese shocks and only cost $215 for the set. Anyway the snap or retainer ring on one shock was jammed in between the preload adjuster. Also looks like there was a defect in the manufacturing of the one shock. It almost looks like the edge wasn’t rolled over correctly. I tried to get it unstuck but couldn’t so gave up and ordered a set of progressive 422 shocks for it. I am hoping I can have it lower with decent shock travel. These shocks were $534 for the set so hopefully they are better.

here is a pic of the stuck ring. Second pic is side by side with the other shock and the third is what it is supposed to look like.

    keeping jersey dirty
I was thinking the same. In a decent amount of NJ, hi-viz might actually make you blend in to the traffic cones and road work signs and have you get ignored more lmao

its not.. as reliable as my gfs bike is they do run very hot! so they do get that kinda smell like a lawnmower does after running for a long time so i wouldnt recomend skipping oil changes on these bikes.

Balancing wheels is not for those with OCD. :anonymous:
I would like to say I was close with the jack stand method, but no.
Rotated the front tire 1/4 turn on the wheel and it's down to 1/2oz of weight now. Took hour and a half before I decided it was good. This was also the learning curve and I messed around with the sticky weights far too long before deciding to just use the spoke weights. Wheel has too much of a hump for them to stick reliably. I miss lead weights, those could have been bent into place.
Rear tire I was too tired to deal with trying to break the bead and give it a spin, but was able to lose a 1/2oz of weight on it as well, just by getting them in the correct spot. That wheel took 15 minutes to remove, balance, and reinstall.

I bought the tools to "true" my spokes on my rim. Holy moly. I am NOT OCD and gave up real fast.

I need a proper balancing jig but not sure if I'll use it if I go to dirt bikes and get rid of the dual sport here.

I'll find out tomorrow if it did any good. I assume it did as the balancing jig allows the wheel to spin effortlessly forever, and is sensitive to a quarter ounce of weight. I don't think I could ever commit to truing a wheel, I'll just take it to the guy if that needs done. Although a lesson from someone that knows what they are doing might change that.

He can't see or be seen in there! Carefully slice 2 small slits and run a zip tie through them and mount him on her handlebars. That can be her mascot.

I have a small foam dairy cow on the rack on top of my top box. It's there in memory of a long distance rider I knew who's gone. Bruce had grown up on a dairy farm so it's named after him. A lot of riders I know have mascots.
