    Looking way better!

Enjoy some flicks and mess with tuning when you've got time.

There are multiple videos (even news coverage) touching on the latest of India 171.

Watched a few these last few hours and it's reported that the Fuel Cutoff Switches were both in the off position.

Makes me wonder if data captures a sort of timestamp to detect when the switch was switched from Run to Cutoff, because pilot discussions all state there's no way not one, but both switches to be accidentally switched to cut fuel off.

Learned a lot about the training pilots go over when it comes to troubleshooting, and when it actually occurs (altitude wise) and more.

    https://static01.nyt.com/newsgraphics/documenttools/3e6e572bb0cd57e7/8d66090a-full.pdf

Edit: Er it is timestamped. Man, wonder what happened if neither switched them off?

Wonder if it was intentional, wouldn’t be the first time a pilot has taken a plane down with all their passengers on purpose. That or the guy just flipped the wrong switches thinking they were something else?

Well training states those shouldn't be used at all during the take off/flight time Air India experienced, and if it is used, only during single engine failure through a challenge and confirm procedure (more common).

And apparently, this would only occur once a specific altitude is reached so there'd be no need to run said procedure.

If you look at the report, one pilot asked why they cut off fuel with the other pilot stating he didn't.

Or realistically just calling it what it is; a lesson learned (or maybe the 2nd or 3rd one now)

I sure as hell made some stupid financial decisions in my past
