I went high on my topper above the third brake lights for that reason. If its lower headlights blind it. Plus higher allows me to see a few cars back if needed case the view can go over the car first in line behind me.
If I need to back into a spot I just drag on the screen to pan the view down and I can see nearly to where my rear bumper is.
(Swipe left/right changes the cameras, slide up/down moves the camera picture view. I didn't know about this for a long time.)

I installed and tested out the Wolfbox mount that @biggestchungus created and sent me (thank you!). I have a Wolfbox 930 and a 1996 Taco with a mirror/dome light assembly I transplanted from an older 4Runner a while back. Bravo @biggestchungus! It's really nice. A few thoughts:

    POSITIVES:
Looks great, easy install, fits my WB 930 perfectly, but best of all, *my visors clear the display*! See the pictures below. Also, because of my almost-60 year old eyesight, a side benefit is that the extra distance from my eyes to the display helps me see it more clearly :)

    ISSUES (or potential issue):
The pivot / ball needed epoxy or superglue to keep it from moving. This is no big deal, but eventually, I will wack the display as I inevitably do to my rear view mirrors in the course of things. I wonder what will happen. Will it break the mount or...? I wish there was another way to tighten that ball joint.

Note: this mount is *only for the 930 model*. It won't fit others as far as I know.

looks great! Go ahead and break it. Ill fix the weak spot and send you another. Not sure what to do about the ball joint maybe I can make room for a lockable one like this.[IMG]

Awesome! you can shoot me a PM and I can start your print or wait till I have the ball mount updated. It may be a while as I work a-lot. Also debating making a version for the 12" wolfboxes. someone will need to share dimensions with me though.

I can help with dimensions on a 12" G840S. With how close your 10" is to the sunvisors I have a feeling it won't be possible to clear with a 12", but I can help be the test mule there
Also, do you know if the mounting is the same on non-dome light rear view mirrors?

Yes with 12" It would be too much. Its almost a perfect fit with the smaller one. Best a mount will do is shift it back to allow you to lower the visors a bit more. Mounting is the same on the no light version. I have both and made sure. Also you should go nab yourself a map light at a junkyard like i did! Let me PM you with a drawing of dimensions I need.

It’ll be awhile for me too. Have to research which model I’d purchase.

    @biggestchungus

just confirming that the visors clear the 10” models? I just measured the space between my two visors along the plane where the current mirror sits and it’s 9 3/8” clearance between the two.

I’d love the 12” models (they’re currently cheaper on Amazon) but I need to have full clearance if the visors.

I can confirm that with this mount, my Wolfbox 930 with its 10" display will clear the visors.

It is Prime Day today and considering the G930 for my 2000 Tacoma. Wolfbox has an OEM mount on their website but did not see any details on fitment for my 25 year old truck. Does anyone know if that mount will work?
I am not sure if OP wants to be in the business of supplying the whole 1st gen community? I don't know anything about 3d printing.
Oh FYI -- Prime Deal is $103.97.

It’s taking every ounce of restraint not to buy this for the past two days.

I just dropped $600 on parts with the holiday sale. So I need to be more responsible.

I did not see a compatible style mount on the wolf box website which is why I made this thing.

So far demand has not been crazy, Ive only sold 3 so I dont mind making them for folks. If I do suddenly get a ton of interest I will consider increasing the price or getting a manufacturer to make them for me. Right now I haven't been asking much and put the files on public domain so you can make it yourself if you want.

Thank you. I think it is awesome that you are doing this. I also did not see anything on the Wolfbox website but contacted them and they suggested their bracket 1 to fit my 2000 Tacoma and their G930 model with addition of a "small piece of iron." Their website says their bracket 1 is not suitable for the G930 so seems opposite of what customer service is telling me (unless the "small piece of iron" makes it work.) If I get clarification from them I may give it a try. Edit, after multiple emails from Wolfbox (turns out I had been contacting an AI) I finally got a rep named "Mark" who pointed me to the bracket that I originally asked about (it is the one for G930 and not their Model 1) and said it would work with my 2000 Tacoma but needed a "small iron plate bracket base plate required" note added to the order which could not be done through Amazon. I ordered the mirror camera through Amazon along with hardwire kit (well, my wife did because she has Amazon Prime) and ordered the bracket directly through Wolfbox for same price but had to pay shipping. I will follow up with evaluation when it arrives.

That mounting setup looks really slick! I’m definitely interested. I currently have a rear camera mounted above my bumper that’s connected to my stereo. About the only thing it’s good for is backing up to a trailer. If I had a wolfbox I’d want to mount the rear camera on top of my canopy. Anybody got pics of this kind of mounting and what it looks like through the display?

I mounted one for my dads truck on his canopy (don't have pics sorry). I find that there is a tradeoff, you can either see your bumper for backing up or see the road behind you for regular driving. The fish-eye angle is not quite big enough to have a good view of both. I chose to mount mine and my dads to give a good view of the road behind us. The backup view is still better than what I would get with a mirror but not so good that I can back up to a inch of the stuff behind me.

Thanks for the reply. I would be adding the wolfbox for regular driving and keeping the bumper backup camera for trailering. It shouldn’t be a problem. I have a burnt out 3rd brake light on top of my canopy so maybe I’ll just mount the wolfbox camera in its place. Are you still making these mounts? If so, I’d like to put in a order for the updated design. I don’t know anything about 3d printing and I’m not in any hurry. Thanks
