Just got my first fridge (CFX5 45) and having some problems. I have an old goal zero 400 that I was planning on powering the fridge while I top off the power bank from the bed inverter.
    1. The fridge will not turn on from the goal zero at all.
    2. When fridge is plugged directly into the bed inverter, fridge will flash on then turn off instantly.

    * frigid works fine when plugged into the garage*
What am I doing wrong here?

Welcome to the forum. Sounds like the fridge needs more power. Start up on compressors is always higher than running so you might not have enough amps to get it going. Try looking up the stats for the fridge, it should list the recommended power.

Run it on the 12v connector.!

I got this Dometic and it works like a champ.
It sets on a platform I rigged in the back of the Access Cab.
My Jackery 1000 Pro sits in the foot well on the other side.

I run the 12V connector into the Jackery.
I run the Jackery Power ( for re-charging ) into a 12v connection I got setup in the cubby.

Works like a stone-cold-champ even produces frost in the bottom of the Dometic.

The black connection is the 12v from the Dometic to the Jackery.
The orange is the keep-charge-going into the 12v connection from the Jackery to the cubby, when engine is on.

Oh, and the seat flips down just over the Jackery allowing for plastic container for food storage, can stack 3-high.

I also have the GoalZero 400.
We use it to power the lights in/out of the teardrop, charge phones, and I run my CPAP Machine 12v off of it as well.
I haven't tried but I'm confident the 12v hookup would run the Dometic as well.
I'm re-charging via the Solar Panels in this image.

If I don't have access to electricity to recharge the solar banks, I whip out the solar panels for recharge.
I could go for months on this setup. All I'd need is fresh water, dry goods, and smokes.

Under the platform for the Dometic I got room to set my camera/ jumper cables/ what-not.

Oh that is clean! I set the fridge battery protection to low from high. That worked for powering directly off the truck. When plugged into the yeti, it is not even detecting a draw. The same outlet will provide power to my lights.

That's odd. My 'gear' is packed away in the guest-room-closet... and I have a guest so I can't get in there
and wheel it all out and give it a run but I'd do it if I could. I did end up buying a new 'battery' for my Goal Zero
after 5 years. Easy enough to change out.

I'd try the 12v and see if that works.

Pretty sure the inverter in the bed doesn’t have enough power. I put dedicated 12 volt plugs in my bed for when I want the fridge back there. It’s usually in my cab though. I plug the Dometic battery into my 12 volt cigarette lighter and plug the fridge into the battery. Works great!
For best results, plug your Dometic in inside to pre-chill it before you use it. Will then be just maintaining temp in the truck and use less power than the initial cool down.
Also , are you trying to use the outlets on the GoalZero? Would definitely try the 12V as previously mentioned, much more efficient.
