Looking for a good shop in eastern Long Island to address my electronic transfer case issue.
    Any help would be appreciated.

A little more info would help. It could be something really simple that someone here could advise you about. I try to avoid dealers for anything but warranty issues, but if in doubt that is where I'd go. I had a U-Joint go bad on us in Arizona 9 years ago. Being almost 2000 miles from home I didn't take chances on unknown independent shops. I drove 80 miles one way to the closest Toyota dealer

I have no idea what your experience is but there are a ton of posts here by people who simply don't understand HOW to engage 4X4 correctly. Nothing wrong with the truck, just operator error.

It seems to be electrical.. I turn selector knob to 4H and nothing [ no light, no beep, etc ]. Push and turn to 4L get beep and blinking light. After a while it sometimes engages in 4L. On occasion I had turned off truck while in 4L and started , then would engage. Last time at beach it was stubborn getting out of 4L.

You say you were at the beach. Let's start from there. Did you drive through water?Check the vent hose coming out of the transfer case. The hoses do go bad. Water will get into the actuator. I never experienced it, but some of the WI crew have.

The fact that you get no lights or anything when you turn the switch to 4H suggests an issue with the 4wd switch or the 4wd ECU.
Need to check your 2-4 and LO switch circuit values at the 4wd ECU as outlined in the thread I posted above and see if they match expected values.
