What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

I have always liked the third gen tailgates how they say Tacoma, I have never thought of this. Cool idea, I may have to steal it

I’m guessing from the look that this is mounted in a 3d printed bracket…. Is that custom or purchased? Looks real good and has me dreaming…

 

Trying to get my 14 taco back to stock if any one got their stock parts available

 

The ol 8lb maul needed a new handle. Once we got that cured with a Fire Maul Tools Demolish handle, it only made sense to make a mount for it so I maintain overland credibility. Put together this lockable mount with combo padlock because I hate extra keys. The head of the maul is heavy enough that it sits pretty well balanced in the mount but I didn't feel right leaving the 36" handle unsecured. Grabbed a "door stop" bracket from home depot.(I dunno it was a 3/16" strip of galvanized flat bar with some bends in it that worked great). I put a rivnut in that bracket to anchor a quick fist.

Came out super solid, secure, and not too fiddly to use.

 

That's solid! If you only had the Before pic of the thing, within Home Depot.... ?!

 

Got my Dasaita head unit today, not to difficult to install either. 2012 TRD Sport

It's purchased. I have an 8 gang mount for my truck, just haven't bought the switch yet.

Thanks! The head side I fabricated at my shop with 3/16" plate and 3/8" round bar. The handle side used the Home Depot part that I just cut up, drilled, and adjusted some of the bends on my vise. I can't find the part on the HD website but it was with the brackets and hinges, looked like it I was a door stop for those sliding barn doors people are doing.

 

I picked up a cap on marketplace. It’s an ARE and needs a little work but with the price and color match I couldn’t pass.

What tires are those?

 

Is there plenty of room behind the headunit for wiring, cords, etc? Looks like it sticks out further than the factory unit? Biggest issue ive run into is lack of space while installing double dins
