I reran it in 2 boxes and the price is down to $205, just gotta make sure the frame fits. The spire is so big haha. One box is still $250 even when I ran the large bikeflights box instead of XL. I’ll probably go the 2 box bike flights route
Yeah I checked and a frame in 2022 was $80 from Texas to VA. Prices are definitely up a bit.
I don’t have the option since I’m on customer site in DC. The mail office is on my floor and it specifically says no personal shipping haha

    SPIRE.

    OH.

I thought you said SPARE, as in a spare wheel.

Haha I can see where it could be confused haha. I’m sure a spare wheel would be relatively cheap haha. It’s a large spire too, barely fits in the basement without blocking a doorway haha

I've found our internal UPS portal to not be much cheaper for the stuff I would ship, maybe something requiring a dock.
I checked a few sites and pirateship and paypal shipping were actually the same exact cost, I'm assuming they both use the same multiplier when relaying prices to customers from UPS, FEDEX, USPS.
For small USPS packages sendle is my go to site.

A frame would've been cheaper, this box of mine weighed nearly 50lbs.

I don't mind the channel at all, I enjoy throwing my bike around and leaning in the turns. The TC might be what I'm looking for in a front tire, just have to wait for the radial casing. The MM is still holding up well, and I'm still not riding on trails yet (double knee surgery two weeks ago), so it might be a while.
It is funny how weird other casings feel after spending time on the radials. They're either wooden and stiff, or squirmy and vague.

More blue line fly fishing than riding but I always bring my bike just in case the fishing are not cooperating. Also, my favorite Taco of all time.

To my surprise, I had to use my e-brake while trying to stop at a four-way yesterday. I told my wife it works better if she cuts both. Lol

how do you like the commencal? I'm looking at a cannondale moterra 3. I can get what sounds to me like a killer deal, $3000 for it. Lowest I saw was a demo bike on pinkbike for $3500. The shop is a big supporter of cycling too so I'm all for it. My main concern is that it will be like 60 pounds based on reviews, but once I put on real tires and possibly a better shock, it will go over 60. It pedaled pretty good for the weight but man if that battery died on a ride, I'd be up a creek.

My wife, surpisingly said, if you are going to say you wish you got a better bike, please just get the better one hahaha, I'm considering the Norco Sight VLT CX (2025 generation) but at $3300 difference its pretty big. Also considering the Norco Fluid VLT with the smaller SX motor and Propain Sresh with the Shimano EP801 but I'm kind of leaning towards wanting a full power bosch motor.

I whole heartedly agree with your wife. ebikes, like electric cars, depreciate super fast. Either get a slightly used one, or pony up for what you really want cause you’re likely stuck with it for a long time.
The difference between a 50 and 60 lb bike is dramatic. I’ve got a good amount of time on eebs from 45-55lbs, and man does it make a difference. I’ve settled in the middle with 50, for the bigger battery and full power, long travel bike.
If you’re in decent shape a 750w battery can get you 6.5k of vert. Maybe squeeze out 7k in eco. That’s enough to drain my body battery. With 500w, it’s about 4k.
    Not in boost.

I’m glad you responded haha. That’s why I’m really interested in the newest sight, but even last years model looks solid. The new one has a 50lbs claimed weight with 800wh battery and Bosch cx motor. The previous one is slightly heavier and 750wh.

If I found a good deal on a long travel bike I’d do that. I think 150ish is ideal for what I want to do with this, which is ride everything for fun haha

It's been a super fun bike, it does everything well and can smash all day.(back wheels that is) It's not super dump truck so it's still fun on mellower trails, jumps, etc. I'm only interested in long travel eebs with full size motor systems so I'd go for the Norco of any of those, 60lbs is getting pretty damn heavy though I think mine is like 54ish. Check out the Decoy, I have a few friends on them and they love them. I will most likely get the DJI version of the Commencal next year. Big battery for me please regardless. I have two batteries for this bike and will ride both of them when I can. I think 750-850wh would be perfect if had to pick one size.

Got my hands on a rental cannondale moterra sl2. I’ll be one of the photographers for the sheduro enduro at the beginning of August so I’m gonna test it out that weekend. The battery is 601wh so we will see how that goes. I’m trying to keep
My photo kit small and light so hopefully it doesn’t hit too hard.

if I like it I may buy the demo bike when they sell them next month.
