yeah I would think you wouldn’t really be able to run foam with the factory sender…. Which at least you would have the factory “surge tank” but could see it becoming problematic at lower levels in prolonged cornering… real issue is how wide the cell is compared to the skinny factory tank for cornering pickup.

I'm running the factory unit in a fuel cell. No baffles, foam, wiffleballs, etc. The factory pump/float/sender has a chamber that restricts flow in and out, so even with fuel sloshing around, it keeps it's own little vessel of reserve so to speak, that helps keep the pump from sucking air at lower levels.

The the jaz cell is not a true cell like a race vehicle
If you flip your car over a jazz will leak immediately
A fuel cell has foam and other limits like baffled ect and uses wallburro pumps usually around 425lph

Just a heads up for anyone wanting these chase rack straps. SDHQ is selling them for 175 each. They are made by Macs. You can order them custom to your specs from the Macs website then thru their customer service. Though still expensive… I got a pair for $245 out the door using a 10% off code, Shipping was free also. Great customer service too.

I’m guessing you’ve never seen one than… the jeepspeed is 100% a blader fuel cell…..

Because at the end of the day we are discussing safety of another member considering a purchase.
We all act tough and drive tough but safety should still be a group concern so acknowledgment of a potential leak concern is warranted

I feel like the fuel ignited for reasons other than it being upside down or the roll over valve failing…

I haven’t but I also have a Jeepspeed cell and I’ve had it apart to know that the bladder is probably not what failed. I will say their included top plate with it is garbage and doesn’t have shit for safety features but the cell itself is pretty solid. Hard to say exactly what the problem is without seeing his setup before hand but my guess is it wasn’t setup to pass race inspection…

That guy… has won the mint in that truck so.

    So for argument sake,
Let’s assume we are just sharing a potential issue that may happen if running a fuel cell.
So that all interested parties are fairly educated and aware of the concern at hand.
Or should we just leave the fire extinguisher at home cause you said so? Lol

like as fans and friends of off-roading
Shouldn’t we all direct default to a safety aspect?
Like we aren’t arguing capacity or flow or anything mundane.

Many causes of a fuel cell leaking after a roll over; stuck ball valve, misrouted vent hose, failure of hose clamp holding any hose, leaking fuel cap. You cannot generalize one brand of fuel cell as "leak immediately".

Id be interested. I see there’s a company that makes a factory type replacement for I guess rusted Tacos but that’s about it. Looks like a bitch to cut out the rivets on the OEM one. I guess akin to a lot of the leaf hanger replacement installs.

That argument goes both ways. Your statement was the "Jazz cell is not a true cell like a race vehicle" but then claimed he won the Mint with that truck which implies he passed tech and the fuel cell is certified.

I don't have an opinion either way but is the discussion that this is a problem with fuel cells in general or that the Jazz fuel cell isn't created equal?

Jazz is allowed by some agencies but a true cell has baffles and foam, jazz has neither.
Fuel cells are also rated for rollover
Jazz has systems in place but they aren’t ideal/perfect.

my statement remains valid but you had a point in me needing to add clarity so thumbs up to you
