There is more room behind the unit than with the stock configuration, the display isn't intrusive or obnoxious. just sticks out a little bit more.
I should have taken pictures of the units side by side, the dasaita is smaller all around.

It wasn't today, but I've been appreciating the light bar for dark forest roads!

Did: 1) door actuator removal (planned on fixing the motors but came to find one of the assemblies themselves had issues with where the door lock wire comes in so now just replacing all assemblies; recommend that as you can get non-OEM ones for very cheap and I wasted way to long reverse engineering how the contraption worked only to find one broken), 2) installed soundproofing (Kilmat under closed cell foam; surprising how much room there is with the windows under there for that), and 3) replaced the factory door speakers and tweeters (pending 4 pin connect as was sent 2 pins for the tweeters).

Next up is replace the assemblies, redo the interior door upholstery, ensure these vapor barriers are “good enough”, and then put valuables back in my truck that now cannot be closed.

Left Friday night after work for a ~very accelerated~ solo road trip from NH to Nashville TN and Huntsville AL to grab a ton of used parts for my track miata build.

For anyone into cars: Borgwarner EFR6258 turbo, Kraken manifold and full 3" SS v band exhaust, intercooler, piping, bracing, ducting, oil and water lines, tapped oil pan, wilwood superlite bbk for the fronts with PFC track pads and ducting, matching rear track setup, and some 15x9 Konig dekagrams to fit the bbk wrapped with 225/45/15 V730s and other random spare parts. Saved a very good chunk of money over buying new and she'll finally make more power than the taco daily soon lol.
    IMG_0096.jpg
Even though I was cuddling car parts the second night I absolutely love sleeping in the bed cap setup. So easy to pull off whenever/wherever I decide to spend the night and get right back on the road in the morning which is a game changer considering I did 2400 miles and 40 hours driving. 18 hrs Saturday and 16 Sunday are some new records for me but still enjoyed just about every minute of it.

Still managed to take a couple hour detour to enjoy a lunch break on the Blue Ridge Parkway

Word to the wise: Do not handle hydrochloric acid with cut hands.

Will also post before/after soundproofing decibel measures once done. Will do the same after I do roof and floor liners.

How long did it take before application of PPE? Nitrile gloves are used often when I paint, with dielectric grease, or anything I don't want to clean off my hands later. Many years ago, the cleaning crew left without flushing the Lime-Away out of the steam table at the restaurant I worked after their night shift. When I started switching out steam table pans for dinner, the chef and I noticed our knuckles burning, and called an immediate halt to flush out the steam table. We restarted the switchover less than five minutes later. During commercial fishing vessel spill response training, we learned that nitrile gloves are resistant to oil (latex is not, and some may be allergic to latex). I use nitrile gloves when applying sound proofing in the Tacoma, when working with composite layups in resin transfer molding, spray painting and more...

Currently still out of our house from last year’s flooding and all my gun gleaning gear where I keep my nitrile gloves is in storage as of a month ago.

Decided to raw dog it. A decision that never turns out well!

Need to get another box or visit the storage unit and figure out where they are.

Last week I got brand new Yokohama Mt's in a 37/12.5/17. Had to do a bunch more work to make them clear compared to the 35s. I took them to the Rubicon for the past 3 days. They are pretty sweet!

I like the look of these grilles but the fitment isn’t the best. Weatherstripping is off on the sides. I can modify it to make it a little better but it does not fit on the headlight clips or else it will be very off kilter where the hood sits.

Mounted the remote start module to the firewall using a bracket that I had @TacoTuesday603 make.

Love the single cab. If I could do it all over again that's what I would get.
