New Roof Rack

    Hello, Ive just bought a New aftermarket roof rack, it contains the washers. To prevent water inside my Tacoma, should I use silicone? Are only the washers safe? What do you advise me? Ive bought this Roof Rack!

    Use RTV on bolts used to mount the rack to the roof. Not knowing what roof rack you might be installing, here is a link to a helpful YouTube showing great installation:

    Use RTV.
    Butyl washers may work but RTV definitely works. I've had my Tacoma rack on for 5 years and it sits outside in the elements with no leaks.
