just a couple of things tbh
thats what im hopeful for.... atm im wondering if i should ask for them to cover some other fees of registering the bike since ive waisted close to 8 hours total sitting in that damn dmv... plus multiple trips back and forth... atm im waiting to see if they can at least get the title back friday before asking for anything else.

At the very least they should sell you some parts or gear at cost

haha that would be nice! havent asked for that one yet! was thinking about asking them to cover the sales tax when i register the bike since it would save me the 600 bucks.
true but at cost do you mean at dealer pricing i take it?

All this bike buying talk made me look at selling my 701SM. I'm tempted to toss it on FB for a high price and see what happens.

Bought the S1000XR for 6500, traded straight across for the 701SM. Maybe $600 in parts into both bikes combined. If I could sell for $8000 I'd be a happy camper, get myself into something else for the year.

I'd still like something better at long distance. F800GS does fine, but its not a flying couch yknow. I usually downshift to pass at 75+, where more power and cushion would be nice. Dream list is still 1190/1290 adv r or something I think. S1000XR had the power, but just wasn't a comfortable bike for me and was so high strung around town. I have a 400 ish mile each way trip coming up mid-august I'd love to take a bike on. 701SM has been a hoot around town, but like, it's fine. It's a date it bike, not a marry it bike, I think.

    @oldtoyman you wanna buy a 701SM? :spending:

What armored Summer riding mesh do y'all recommend? Even though it's well-ventilated, my black Joe Rocket textile has me roasting!

ahh ya that is fair. how much power does the f800gs have? i know with my tracer i can be in 6th at 70-75 and throttle out and it just goes! i will say the seat is a bit annoying how it pushes you towards the tank but there is aftermarket seats and risers to fix that situation.
seems like a Yamaha is always the answer lol

I think 85hp rated stock and torque comes in really early and stays super linear. Engine has some grunt and giddy up most of the time, just would love an extra 15 or so hp to help when needed at highway speeds. I'm also up a tooth in the front to get a better cruising RPM, so that doesn't help the situation, either.

Cycleworld has it at 77hp at the wheel on their dyno.

It's still crazy to me you didn't enjoy the XR. I found even the RR to be extremely comfortable, and great powerband in all situations. But I've almost exclusively ridden sport, so there's a little bias lol.

Not cheap, but i've only heard good things about the R1250GS. Couple buddies of mine have em and love them.

How tall are you? My legs were cramped on it, that was the biggest thing, honestly. That and kill-myself-doing-something-stupid power lol. I'd trade more torque for less top end, which I'd think a big v-twin like an 1190/1290 would do.

R1200/1250 could be an option. Honestly never even sat on one. They don't seem to come up used around my area very often.

Ah that is probably why then. i'm pretty short, only 5'10" and I have a long torso and short legs lol

I'm not even sure I could touch the ground on a R1250GS

Yeah, I'm 6'2", 32" inseam usually, but also have a long ass torso lol.

Something like this tempts me. I know I'd have to go older on a KTM to get to a similar price range.
