What the actual heck. My 2 year old Tacoma (TRD Off Road) babied and serviced only by the dealer, started throwing this code. Dealer just gave me a loaner 'we need it at least 2 weeks' to figure this out. I am shaking my head; at 24k miles? Sure it's under warranty, but I'm afraid now I've got a lemon on my hands.

Anyone get this code with such low miles?

Sorry to hear....but for whatever it's worth, it will be good as new when fixed.

    It's just the 3.5 doing 3.5 things.

It happens. The fix, if done under warranty is for new cylinder head.

There is no evidence of the entire engine being a lemon. I’d let them fix.

Ask for a loaner vehicle in the mean time.

Have them fix it and ask for an extended warranty as compensation. After that forget about it and move on.

Ok maybe I'm getting a little carried away. But my 2001 was an absolute champ, until 150k miles when an electrical problem developed. Call me spoiled, but they sure don't make em like they used to...

I think screaming "lemon" is a bit premature, but I am sorry for your troubles OP. They will fix it and all will be good.

That is strange it's kicking out that code at 24000 miles. Let the dealership fix it and see what happens after that.

Per previous posts yea let the dealer 'deal' with it.
