Looks great! I get ideas like that in my head, but I’m not good at execution (likely mediocre tools). I just went with premade stuff for now. I’d just stain a honey color and go with that. Show us your final/filled.

I liked the paint on this, but I avoid large scale that aren’t specifically my arena.



I picked these two for @Maximumdarkside and @Kilo Charlie … available if turned down, otherwise returns.

 

I believe this is the only non race version of an NSX I have. Jsut a simple HW from Target.

 

And that’s basically what I’m looking for. I’ll have to keep my eye out.

Came out great! I really like how you did the longer shelves on the bottom for the transporters. Wish my cases had those. Paint or stain? Guess that depends on the room they are going in. Wanted to paint mine the blue color on the hot wheels card but ended up painting the walls that color. I have some that have white shelf’s with the white back. I have one that has white shelf’s and black back which I like a lot more. I may paint the others black someday.

 

I have a glass cabinet from Ikea that holds my scale models I am building. SO if I hung it next to that white would work. But thats in the bedroom and I am only in there to sleep. Id like to hang it in the garage since I am in that room most. but its a garage so every square inch is used for tools, and hobbies, and stuff. I think I should figure out location first, then color will kind of decide itself. Thanks for that input.

I also cant take credit for the design, I searched on Google for cabinets and say this on Etsy i think... so I just copied it.

 

What kind of models do you build? I used to do warships and airplanes, moved to cars and eventually stopped due to kids. Neither of them picked it up and I ended up trimming it from my hobbies.

HX Models Pan Am 747-100



I've been dreaming of a manufacture that would release this historic aircraft on a modern casting. Past releases of similar models tend to go for crazy money. I'm just happy I bought my example before they sold out.

 

Cars. But I have started doing other subjects. I built a Saturn V Rocket, and I am building a P51. If you click the photo in my sig you can see my work. I stopped due to kids also. Hadn't built in about 20-25 years. Just recently started again and pretty much had to learn all over.

My son loves building the Aoshima snap kits. And I have about 60 kits waiting to be built so if he picks it up we will have plenty to share. For now I built a space in my garage to build after he goes to bed.

 

Good luck with that, 2nd hand sellers are gouging people; the regular mini gt brand Roxy also being gouged off the bat.

 

A few pick ups last night...Dollar Tree away from my area...I found the new Dodge truck and challenger I never see around me...and a few more I didn't have. **Matchbox El Camino

I knew on of the VPs for PanAm back in the 80s (gf dad). Later one of the United international coordinators. They had various models everywhere of their fleet. I remember when they would often give kids small versions instead of the metal, then plastic pilots wings.

 

Today was mostly looksies…
