Can't blame you for that, my man. I do still chuckle about the retail store I worked at getting closed by the main office not long after I left..and the main office was not happy to learn I'd left

This. My belief on that exception is the punishment should be taking them all and dropping em on a deserted island to fend for themselves.

Agreed. I've been wronged by terrible bosses and terrible people, like I'm sure most people have. My revenge was to find a better job or life elsewhere and leave them to theirs.

They don't have permission to live in my head. Nobody is allowed to affect my mood. I don't hate them, I don't love them, I don't have any emotional thought. They just don't exist anymore, save for a summarized historical footnote filed away in the back of the cabinet. I don't think about it. I'm too busy driving forward to be staring at the rearview.

Charlie, I recommend practicing the art of letting go. These things are anchors - you would be surprised how much faster you move once you start untying them.

I finally went back to work this morning, and it was hot as hell, but otherwise great! So, customers commonly leave rental vehicles at body shops when they pick up their personal vehicles, and we pick them up. The body shop furthest north in our "zone" is located up Easton Road in Pipersville. Today, a coworker drove me up there in one of our many Chrysler Pacificas, and I came back with a Mazda CX of some sort (either a CX-3 or a CX-5). As I was coming back into Doylestown, a late model red Chevy Silverado 1500 was traveling in the opposite direction. The truck abruptly made a U-turn and headed back towards Doylestown. As I got closer, I realized that the Chevy's hazards were on, and then I noticed a terrible burning smell. After that, I realized that there was white smoke coming out of the truck's exhaust pipe, and that he was headed to the Chevy dealership just ahead on the left; I have no idea if the driver had just picked up the truck at the dealership after it was allegedly repaired, or if they had mechanical trouble and realized they'd just passed a Chevy dealer.

I say again that this was a newer (current generation) Silverado, no older than 2019. It looked incredibly clean and well-maintained, so I don't think it was much older than 2023 or 2024. I've seen vehicles with 200K+ miles that look spotless, so it could have been an older one that was in really good shape. However, with the recall on the 6.2L V8s, it's highly possible that this was a low-mileage truck that decided to shit the bed. It's also entirely possible that the truck had been at the dealership for something simple like an oil change, and a tech either didn't put enough oil in or forgot to put oil in entirely! I wish I had been in my truck instead of a company vehicle, because then I'd have dashcam footage to accompany this tale.

The other highlights of the day including a coworker finding a tampon in a Ford Expedition that we were cleaning, and a tornado warning coming in less than 40 minutes before my shift was over. Thankfully, it was a new tampon still in the wrapper, but we were both grossed out and my coworker immediately chucked it.

I was cleaning up a different Expedition than the one my coworker found the tampon in, and this thing was trashed. I had just topped off the washer fluid and sprayed the front end with bug remover, and was vacuuming the passenger side, when my supervisor came rushing out to tell me that a tornado warning had just been issued. he said that if I wanted to clock out early and head home, I was welcome to do so, but it was only 5:24pm and I was obsessed with getting the Expedition done. I finished the Expedition probably ten minutes before my shift would have normally ended, clocked out, and ended up having to make a mad dash for my truck in a torrential downpour. There were no tornados that I am aware of, but the first half of my drive home was absolutely insane because of the rain!

I got to drive an electric BMW; it was a one-way from out of state, and it had less than a 25% charge left…

In terms of handling or just in general? I only drove it in the parking lot and didn’t get to really test out the handling and performance like I did with the Z4 a few months ago…

I got to drive a Mustang convertible today, and my boss said she had no problem with me putting the top down…

This 2024 Mustang had almost 45K miles and was beaten to shit, but the A/C worked great (yes, I had the top down and the A/C on), and you just can’t argue with the fun factor of a turbocharged convertible on a summer day!

Honestly, I’ve got no idea. It gets pretty humid in the wash bay, so I’m gonna go with algae…

gotta be, get the stuff at my house all the time.

Not sure if you got stuff there but if not you could probably use a quart bottle of the algae killer I use in my pool. Besides the actual water I get the stuff on the fencing and at least once a year have to clean it. Pressure isn't an option as the fence is kinda cheap, but a little on a sponge and some elbow grease later the fence is looking spiff again

On Wednesday, I went to pick up a new Malibu from the Chevy dealer up the street. Despite having barely over 9,300 miles, this Malibu had a CEL due to electrical problems. The dealer fixed the problem under warranty, but one thing I was not told was that the car had been low on gas when dropped off; I nearly shit myself when I realized that the car was basically on empty! It was obscenely hot and I was not about to turn off the A/C!
