Move to west texas... I loved it out there no humidity or insects

 

I lived outside of Austin in Round Rock for almost 8 years, biggest bugs I’ve seen in my life what do you mean. Spiders, wasps, scorpions, flies everything was huge

I guess that’s not west Texas but I still have a hard time believing it

 

Gathered that. Was planning on making an apple pie. Wife found a millet flour pie crust recipe. Did not know millet was gluten free.

He has a rice cooker. Which I’ve always wanted one of them.

Are you a celiac? Or is anyone else viewing this??? I need some advice. Planning a meat tortellini pasta salad and a watermelon salad. He’s mentioned he’s a big meat and potatoes guy. But life’s to short for the same all the time. And we secretly love cooking.

I’m aware pasta isn’t gluten free but there will be other people here too*

The Red Velvet Ant or Cow killer ant (wingless wasp) that has a painful as fuck sting

Dasymutilla species have multiple defensive strategies, but are best known for their extremely painful sting, ranked 3 out of 4 on the Schmidt's sting pain index, earning them the nickname of "cow killer". Cow killer defenses include a thickened exoskeleton, the ability to run fast and evasively, warning coloration, stridulatory warning sounds, a chemical secretion, and venom. Both sexes make a squeaking noise (stridulation) to warn potential predators (another form of aposematism in females, and automimicry in males). When stridulating, velvet ants rub their abdominal segments together in a rapid fashion. This is different than stridulation seen in insects such as crickets, in which the leg structures are rubbed against the abdomen.
