I nearly choked on my coffee

 

So, is we all getting ready? October is right around the corner.

 

Gonna start planting in about 4 weeks.

 

Oct 1 will be here before you know it, I'm not ready yet! Have to get all of the honey do's and dont's out of the way Wait a minute, I ran that problem off

 

Its been raining a lot so i couldnt get done what i wanted...earlier. but i figure its dry enough now. I rented a exacavator for this weekend. Ill post pics of progress.

In other news choppers been flying low over the area i cut down trees...they prob think im making a pot grow.

 

Well crap… the landowner where I hunt texted me this morning to let me know there are major changes. Mainly, no permission to hunt this year.

I do have one prospect, a 450 acre parcel in the same area. I contacted the owner last week, haven’t heard anything yet.

Needless to say, I’m feeling a bit down.

Not really sure what happened on the property. There are 5 folks that have permission, with a +1 for each. Two of the guys I've never seen. One is older, maybe mid 50's, good guy. The other two, nice enough, but they use their +1 and rotate thru their family. One guy rotates thru 3 sons and his wife, the other his daughter and wife. My son is my +1 and that's it. And although we don't have assigned spots or locations, this guy bounces everywhere. The first year we hunted my son and I killed decent buck. Our stands are about 100 yards apart. Last year he sets up a ground blind between us. Us being the FNG's just dealt with it. The first morning last year I'm heading in, son at the first spot, me further back. About 1/2 way there, a flashlight is shined at me. I'm like WTH.... I set up. When it got light I could see the ground blind about 50 yards away. Later in the morning back at the truck he mentions, "I didn't know you set up so close." Like 'Scuse me, dude those stands were there the year before. And I know you know, cuz you walked past my cameras.

Maybe he raised a stink...The two guys I've mentioned have been hunting the property for ~15 years and also the adjoining property. That permission was pulled a few years back, not sure why.
