Did a couple more hours on the hog over at the neighors... Rough, tough & big angles. Broke several things ... Stop fixed them & went back at it.

All the big hogging is done. Now got 12 stumps to do for him, all small & a brush pile to move with the grapple. '
    '
Then its mini excavator time with the small hog on it for some driveway edges & bank work.

He's got a lot of hand work to do, but that's on him. I've tripled his mowing area already. Its what he's paying me for, so he's getting it.

It will cut. They look small but it is isn't. It weighs 500lbs. I sharpened the blades on it and finish mowed my entire yard with it one dusty, dry summer and it did fine. Kept me from eating dirt.

Do it. Make sure to prep your wood for moisture because that steam will float up into it. My young and groove is sealed and I put gable vents in so it’s pretty well setup.

    Or…..

Thx guys. I had to bounce from forums for a while. I was moderating 2 and beginning to hate the way people act on them. I left both moderation jobs and both of those forums. Working and stressing over a job that didnt pay anything lol.

On the tractor front: I restored my Cub 3205 and used it to pull the Swisher hog above. It ate the rear axle spur gear which is made of powdered metal and destroyed the transaxle with the shavings.

I had this happen on my 3240 as well and realized I was going to be chasing this as long as I was asking GTs to do what I should be doing with a CUT or SCUT. Soooo...

The wife pointed out a Cub/Yanmar Sc2400 on FB marketplace for a good price and I bought it. It's 4WD with a Yanmar 23HP diesel. Tractor is built completely by Yanmar for Cub Cadet.

Because of the good price it has been neglected and abused at 400hrs. Been fixing these things on it and using it to brushhog, grade my driveway and plow my drainage.

    Nice looking unit!
I always enjoyed the work you did on your units, you work them and make them nice too.

From the number of bolts just on the rear hitch section they built that for the long haul.

Thanks. Yeah those are the metric equivalent of 1/2" as well. My Cub 3000s have (4) 3/8" bolts on the drawbar lol.

I have some property and I cut a lot of it (2-3 acres) every 2-3 weeks but theres some I'd like to only cut 4x per season (mid-April to mid/late Sept). lets say less than an acre or so.

It gets higher than Snoop Dog after a while obviously.

Plus the edges get a little deadfall and I'l like to not have to worry about that all the time. Only have the riding mower and dont want to eff it up.

    Thanks

    JB

My Swisher would have no problem with that. Sometimes I mow 5 acres continuously with it up to 4ft high. You don't even need to slow down as it seems like it has zero load on it.

Because it weighs 500lbs pulling it up hills may damage the transmission on a regular mower. It destroyed the rear end gears on my heavy garden tractor but I was asking too much of it admittedly.

Good to know....prob have to get an ATV to tow it as there are some decent hills there.

My neighbor has a Gator-type thing he might let me use it 3x per year to tow the burshcutter if/when I buy it.

    Thanks

Was cutting tall grass (3-4ft tall) and found some limbs from trees the previous property owner hadn't cleaned up. Switched it out for a flail style blade...

rotated tires changed oil threw out the old air freshener.
    That doesn't look very sturdy.
The metal looks like a gage "OH! too-thin"

@koditten this is a pretty slick trailer build.

For a mini bike or motorcycle that would be pretty cool.

Anybody ever shorten chain saw chains? I've got a couple Stihl 25" chains and don't run that bar much and would like to shorten them to 20". The local hardware store has the tools to do it but said he can't do Stihl chains because they bind up with his links.

Maybe I'll just have to wrestle the 25" bar and use them if I have to.

I was today years old learning that the Kohler engine devision of Kohler doesn't exist anymore.

Picking up parts for a project and the counter intelligence informed that Kohler engines has been sold off.

The new name of the company is just the rearrangement of the letters used to spell Kohler.
