Aux Transmission Cooler

    Intake, exhaust, lift. Typical stuff.
    The cooler has 10an fittings on top. This is a 10an to 3/8 barb fitting.

    Hard to tell the exact temp with the toyota gauge but it normally sits at half. climbed to 5/8 - 3/4 before i put in in 4wd low and went back down. but 4wd low is too slow and torq'y for how i drive and the roads we have. it needs it if you dont drive like grandma....

    ok i believe you its a thing now lol. but remember. the trucks with trans cooler cool off the engine coolant.. which at operating temp can be 215ish degrees. so anything below that is "ok" most manufactures have been doing it that way for years so it must be ok.
    so from the 4gn forum it seems as long as you keep engine reved little higher all is well. prolly why TFL did not have trouble towing max load on road.

    Stock (99.999%) OEM Bed Floor Mat, Front Bed Rail Cargo Net and hooks, Auto-Dim mirror w/Compass and outside Temperature display, TRD Pro Grille, Uni-Filter air pump modification, WeatherTech floor liners f/r. (winter) OEM All-Weather floor mats (summer).
    Do your homework and measure the space in front of the condenser, then install the biggest external transmission fluid cooler that will fit. The stacked-plate design is a good choice: more surface area exposed to the air-flow and decent durability.

    I think of it this way: The transmission on my truck went 104,000 and didn't blow up because of the heat with only the tow-package external cooler, and the factory one installed in the radiator tank upstream. I added a larger one when I got it. I don't tow very often but it's peace-of-mind having it. I had a drain-and fill done soon after and will do another one at 160,000 miles if I live that long. :proposetoast:
