I figured, I see some very very slight deflection in the hood at higher speeds. I just can't imagine that's what people are worried about so I wanted to see what was different vs mine.

Hoping adding the soundproof hood mat, with the extra weight and tighter fit, will cut down on the shudder

So last night I drank the cool aid and installed the down pipe off the muffler. Very upsetting did not notice any sound difference (being you are removing the sound diffuser) I would have thought there would have been some sound difference but there wasn’t so the only advantage is clearance if off roading. Our truck is a Tacoma TRD Sport 6 Speed Manual.

They need to bring back Purplesaurus Rex and Incrediberry. Those were great Kool-Aid flavors.

    Just looks and ground clearance.

Hard to make a 4 cylinder sound "good". Maybe better than a 6 but you'll never get V8.

Just hoping to make the exhaust sound deeper, thats all……
Why would you try to make a Tacoma sound like a V8……..it’s a midsize truck……

Was just saying, its hard to make a 4 cylinder sound good, unlike a V8. V6's generally sound horrid.

IMHO, these engines should stay silent unless you raise the RPM to +7k and its in a Honda.
