Received Course magsafe phone mount installed in about 10 minutes, immediately mailbox to install. Works great can't wait to use it. Nice and strong.

I made an appointment with the dealer as I felt this was significant metal shavings for 5k miles prior to recommended maintinece schedule. I am still under factory warranty

they said they are going to drain it again and fill it-then I will drive it-then they will drain and check for debris

The fluid was dark but not overly glossy or milky, I did not experience any grinding or howling. I am wondering if there is left over debris from the manufacturing process

I don’t overload my truck I do move some tools and I have a 2990 gvw utility trailer but that should not be stressing the truck as I am
Under payload, maximum tounge weight and gcvwr.

They had super harsh bottom outs and reduced my uptravel when I had them. Replaced with the Archive setup and never looked back.

I'm not sure how much towing you have done, you may not want to play it up if it were only a couple trips. Otherwise the Maintenance schedule suggests the below at 15k miles for driving while towing.

Good point. Some of those pieces look like shaving created when drilling or tapping. But I’d like to think the process is clean enough that they would t be present. Hopefully the next drain is clean and it’s a good indication that you have no noise or issues right now. But you surely don’t want that crap floating around in there!

Guess I got lucky. This was my front. Rear was similar. Seems like a normal amount of shaving sludge tho. And only fine shavings, which is ideal. Chunks would be cause for concern for sure tho.. Im at 51k. Bought truck at 41k. Must've been changed once before so thats good.

But yeah, if i did any kind of towing (or heavy 4x4'ing) I'd be changing the fluid at lesser intervals. Anything really, that puts more stress on your drive train.

my front diff was not nearly as built up as that photo. Appt is for July 31st I will update for those interested. I found the shavings to be unusual too for the condition of the fluid!

    haha

Already did. Actually removed, and gave the ball threads some loctite, reinstalled. Did that because I wasn't comfortable cranking down with supplied Allen wrench too much flex and repositioning the angle it came loose. Should not be a problem now.

I did do a good bit a 4x4'ing recently too and don't think 4wd was used much before I got it, if at all. Truck was basically pristine, probly never touched the dirt before me.

You know we’re going to need a follow up report once you get the canvas on right???

I wonder if someone has a red version (for night ops ;)) of these that aren't total trash... LEDs but a less harsh tone and still lots of light. I'm about to disappear down a rabbit hole...
