That’s always scary. My guy finds used joints around the campfire and eats them and gets high. But luckily it just makes him loopy and chill for a few hours until it wears off. Not sure why dogs feel the need to eat shit that is toxic to them.

Yeah it was very scary. They kept her in the e.r. overnight and really couldn't give a prognosis until about 8am the next day when the tremors started subsiding. They did do a drug test for all of the common recreational drugs and it came back negative, and she said with the neuro response it was pretty certainly a toxic mushroom. Wasn't even on my radar as something to be cautious of but that's definitely changed.

I had a Jeweled Amanita in my yard recently. Toxic in most societies.

My old neighbor came over to pick up some eggs and his golden lab goes straight to the compost pile and drags back a long deceased and very flat hen...Good job Jasper.

Oh no! That was the dog you had with you when you helped me out, I'm guessing. Glad to hear she made it through!

Is hunter lake still doable by vehicle? Not to age myself, but in a January long ago I slipped off that trail around that shitty right turn after you come out above the trees in my CJ7. Probably 15 years ago now, but I had to winch my ass backwards.

Other fun facts about hunter lake trail:

I grenaded my front D30 spider gears on my XJ, also in the snow, bombing up that first big hill (before you get to the part where I dropped my CJ off the trail)

Coming up from the garson side over near boomtown I sunk my '79 F150 on 35's up to the frame. Also in the snow...

It was never a difficult trail, I just kept trying to do it in heavy snow for some reason. It's lovely in the summer, but I haven't run up there in a long while. Thinking about it for tomorrow

It’s probably been 5 years for me but hunter lake was very doable in the summer. I recall a real tight squeeze between two trees at one point near the lake though
