Afternoon all. Another stormy day here so limited to what we can do. We did go explore the sand dunes before the storms started.

I’ll get some in a couple weeks. My buddy books a rockfish charter every year.

Morning all, back in MD. Didn’t catch a thing or see any bears.

 

yawl are back safe...yet no feesch or sightings.....

 

Well at least the truck looks good lol

 

There is a little mud from the Aaligator Refuge last night now.

 

Alligators sound like a great reason for there to be mud on the truck!

 

Have you checked out that place down there? I think I remember you saying you liked the area.

 

We go to the OBX 3-4 times a year but I’ve never heard about anything alligator related.

 

We were originally signed up for the Bear Necessities talk last night but it was cancelled due to the storms. We ended up still driving out to look ourselves. It’s back on the “mainland” past Roanoke island in the Manns Harbor area.

the swap has been done, but the wiring for the speakers is not present. I’m hoping I can get a harness from somewhere so i dont have to make one. The 08 had 7 wires in the door panel, the 2013 only has 5. So no speaker wires at all.

Then we look at the 2013, A DAMN BLOCK OFF PLATE INSTEAD OF A SPEAKER, TOYOTA I HATE YOU:



So i had to compare them. Everything about the 2008 door panel is better. So you already know I swapped the 08 speakers and door panels onto the 2013:

You can clearly see how BULBOUS the bottom of the door panels in the 2013 was. I gained 4-5” of cargo space in doing this swap, AND GAINED SPEAKERS BACK on a fully loaded truck that should have come with them to begin with…

pretty interesting to see what they did… or I guess didn’t do by removing the speakers. You outta just fill the entire back with subs and call it a day

 

I’m pissed they didnt include the wiring. I now have to cut up the harness from my 2008 in order to have door speakers
