Yeah, I paid $35K out the door for the '18 TRD OR 4WD that my son is driving now. At the time I felt that it was fair price considering there was a PRO in the showroom for like $45K if not a little more (been a while - lol). When I gave my son the '18 I looked at getting another 3rd Gen, but the prices were just crazy IMO. After seven months I found a one owner '08 2nd Gen TRD OR 4WD for $12K and I bought it.

Agree, though only a small percentage of buyers pay that for a 4th gen. Even an OR with upgrade package can be had for under 50k with very little negotiation, and there are plenty of sports, SR and SR5s out there for less or far less. In today's market it's certainly reasonable for such a reliable brand that keeps its value. The high end price points for the fart gens are overrepresented on forums like this since people like to show and talk about their buying power. It's part of the social media distortion of reality.

Why was it 60k before the 13k mark up?

I looked more closely at the sticker lots of options and it looks like sway bar disconnect is included.

But still, you could a brand new fully loaded Tacoma for like $35K fifteen years ago...

Yes you could and you can still get one in the 40 - 45k range. $60k for a Off Road hybrid with sway bar disconnect seems a little high. I can't get over the TSRP to even think about the Koch add ons, it's a good looking truck but that price tag.

What does the sway bar disconnect do? Also, what I'm trying to say is that I wouldn't want a loaded truck; I'd prefer to have a base model truck like what I've got now and add all of the stuff I want. I guarantee you that my truck has a better stereo system than any factory system in a 4th Gen!

Better articulation with the swaybar disconnected for offroading, connected up for better handling on the street.
