Someone posted a Lexus AI generated tundra pro
And I was tired enough I thought it was real for a few seconds.
But off-road trails aren’t being maintained anymore obviously
The best any of us do now is go collect trash but nobody is fixing the routes.
    So everyone says the same shit;
    Bigger holes, bigger tires.
    But dang
Even at an LS swap in most platforms you’re reaching a problem of the remaining chassis not being able to handle tires even if motor can.

    like
the taco takes a ton of replacement parts to make it happen
And even my 1500 needs a new driveshaft and better rear axle shafts to go any faster and that’s just 35’s
And now I have Tacomas in Irvine pulling up next to me on 37’s so I am feeling the fomo

LOL and most are street/meet Queens....

I put fuel in the taco the other day and got the " you should run 37's" from a taco driver, in what I would call an overly polished taco and had not one scratch or dirt spot anywhere in full Dirt king suspension....

Now that I think about it as he pulled out for the station I don't think I even heard a squeek or pop from suspension/frame flex....No dirt or a very large jug and garden sprayer of WD-40 and douched the underside in a dirt lot and allowed to drip dry...

I love my Toyo AT III's on the road and light offroading, but in sand they suck. Looking at the R/T Hybrids the weight is only 2 LBS more than my A/Ts.

I had Yoko M/T's and loved them in the sand hardly had to pop in to 4x4, these A/T's though I find im in 4x4 a lot more often.

I went with the RT trails, I was a little worried about them at first... but honestly, they are great!

The RT pro has been catching my eye too. Lighter than the MT. I think my next tires will be one or the other of those Toyos.

I currently have the toyo RT’s in 315/70/17’s. So far so good. I’ve had them for about 2yrs now.

BFG or nothing. Really doesn’t matter what tire of theirs you buy, it’s gonna be good.

I recently found out they’re owned by Michelin, further reinforcing my idea that they’re the best Offroad tire mfg. they make some of the best road race tires.

I’m a fan of BFG for a few reasons too.
Mo2s have served me well for a few sets and 100k now.
Would really like to do km3s on my tacoma now that I hardly drive it unless to and from a trip.
Get some skinny ko3s for the 4Runner too when it’s got some actual suspension underneath it.

Y'all know what's a real bummer.... ordering a certain LT kit because it comes with axles, then realizing that the axles wont work with your truck and having to choose between spending an additional $1,100 bucks on the cheap option or $2,300 on the right option...:spending:

Switch to ADD hubs and keep your manual differential tube. strongest option

is it just the hub that has to be changed? I guess the front diff would just always be spinning... right?

yup, although pressing the hubs out will likely destroy the bearings too so just get a set and change em while you're in there. Diff will always be spinning but I have to imagine if MPG was a concern you wouldn't be going long travel haha

Was planning on changing the bearings anyway ( they will actually be here today). MPG's aren't really a concern, My DD is a 5.7L Tundra so I'm use to the " insert dry " motion.
