What's more interesting to me is that when I go and look at used Tacoma motors on eBay, the block says 2GR. So I wonder what the difference is between what comes factory and what you received?

    Did you purchase 11400-31400?

I'm not worried about fitment, I'm just curious what the actual differences are. The Tacoma 2GR and the 7GR are supposed to have essentially the same block, but it gets more interesting when they have different model numbers cast into them. Makes you think things are different.

It's just a matter of time. The 3rd gen engines are surprisingly high compression. Couple that with forced induction and it can spell disaster if not properly tuned and timing dialed back. You were likely detonating. Ask me how I know. :)

Did you get a custom tune or did you use the off the shelf tune?

Ahh, lol. Did they hook you up to a dyno and use a A/F meter? Sounds like it was just an off the shelf tune.

Nope, the prochargers were fairly new at the time on these trucks and they modified a maggy supercharger tune and pushed it to a few guys who signed up to be their guinea pig - I was one of those suckers. They claim everyone else was fine but maybe I was the only manual and they screwed something up idk. They also performed a dyno tune on a truck and changed the tune "drastically" but never updated me lmao.

11400-31400 is correct. That's what I ordered. My old short block also shows "2GR" from 2019 build. Kinda strange lol

Looks like 11400-31400 replaced 11400-0P100…wonder if the 0P100 was the 2GR block and it simply doesn’t matter?

The 7GR makes a bit more torque and HP than us, but that’s gotta be programming because the bore and stroke is the same. No way can I think of a short block contributing to any of that. It ought to work just fine, but definitely odd how they consolidated parts like that and are now giving us the 7GR block.
