So Jerry, yes there are several fire roads that go a long way. Who knows how far you can go before we hit snow too deep to cross. Saw Mill goes a long way and never crosses camp creek, but if you stay to the right at all the junctions, it'll come out on Capps Crossing (Google Maps had Bonetti Rd labeled as Capps Crossing, so don't trust it). If we can get to Camp Creek at Capps Crossing Rd, that would be cool (it took us maybe half an hour in the summer to go that far). None of the fire roads (dirt) off Capps Crossing Rd have gates. Like I said before, I'm guessing it's because you can't get there in the winter anyway. Here's a link to where Saw Mill Rd comes into MET (it's the first road on the map that goes off on the south side of MET after going east of Park Creek Rd which is shown on the map and then hang a right when it splits at Bryants).

    http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&sou...722483,-120.483713&spn=0.033549,0.055189&z=14

If we can make it all the way, it comes out (among many other roads) at Capps Crossing in this link. The upper horizontal line that ends when it goes to the left on the map actually connects to it. That stretch may be a challenge if there's snow (good size rocks for stock truck while traveling next to a water cascade that travels under the truck and down the road to dump into the creek. Then there's a big water/mud pit a little further.

    http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&sou...116,-120.41904&spn=0.008392,0.013797&t=h&z=16

We'll just play it by ear. I may have to take the chainsaw in case we come across trees down on the road (like I did on Pebble Canyon Rd when I tried it out first).

So yeah, lots of options. We just may end up at dead ends and having to go back the way we came depending on the snow/downed trees situation. Also, Capps Crossing Rd is the only one of these that crosses over to Hwy 88 and it's paved all the way. I don't think it's possible to make it all the way to Hwy 88 yet on that road.

I think everyone will be much happier with the options up here than on Wentworth Springs. Like you said, DIRT!
