Yeah I'm in Ontario we are used to some rust here too. I was just surprised to see a perforation. Most of the rest of it looks decent.
    Thanks

Yeah I believe so. I found a picture online of the underside. I believe it actually came from TW. But the area circled in blue is the area in the picture. Ignore the red. Honestly looking at this picture it almost looks like there's a dimple on their frame in the same area.

What state was the truck from?

My 93 pathfinder was from upstate ny, salted roads and I drove it on the beach out there and eventually the frame cracked on both sides.
Welded plates on both sides and eventually got the tacoma in 17....I miss the manual transmission, manual hubs, locker and transfer case

Its From Ontario. Between Niagara falls and Detroit. Definitely rust belt territory.

The ac drain relocate mod isn’t needed on the 2013 model is it?

Not sure. Trucks are fairly similar id look under the hood and to find the condensate hose on the 3rd gen it's easy. Its on the passenger side and it's a piece of hose sticking out of the firewall. About halfway from top to bottom.

Wire brush or wheel then waxoyl or fluid film. Don’t paint it or worse use por 15. Look up waxoyl it’s the best product. You can diy or lots of application centers in Ontario. I had three Toyotas rot out before I found proper treatment. GL

Why do you think a 2017 frame isn’t likely to fail?

me personally? i picked the rust because food makes me happy. selfish, i know.
