Years ago I scratched the center section of my rear slider. Several glass shops said the same thing. Only replace the whole assembly.

    Good point.

    Not bad for used options.

Tbh was thinking about the one without slider. Looks kinda clean..

Do you guys really use it? I know few use cases outside of long PVC or lumber when you forget your tie downs

Converted my window switches to the 12-15 so much better. Nice being able to have auto windows easy mod and worth it to me.

Do you need to re-pin the connector for this mod or is it plug and play?

I had to repin the drivers side connector. For the passenger side I had to make a whole extra harness for the lock switch so it would be plug and play. Passenger side also I had to re pin and just swap 2 wires. https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/2005-2011-driver-window-switch-conversion-to-2012-2015.784858/ This is the thread I used its a bit complicated but once you read it a few times and makes sure to read the replies its actually pretty decently easy to understand.

RE: ..."do you guys really use it?: Honestly, I have to say I hardly ever have it open on my double cab. Maybe if I had an access cab or a single cab I would open it more. If it wasn't standard on the trim I wanted, I probably wouldn't order it or go out of my way to find a truck with it. If it ever broke and it was going to be out of pocket to replace, I would explore the option of replacing it with a privacy-glass solid window.

Worked a chaotic 10hr shift, got off at midnight, and then me and the doggo took a long dark drive up to the family cabin in Tahoe for the next few days. Life is good.

Glad to help with my .02 cents. I'd pay extra without hesitation for an optional one piece rear-defrost heated rear window. Is/Was this option ever available on a Tacoma or on the '25'? My son's f150 has it on his single rear privacy glass window, but I don't think I have ever seen one on a Tacoma. I miss the outside heated mirrors too. Every car or truck I have had since the 80's has had them.

The input here from others on the high cost of a replacement for that center panel was great info to learn, and gives me pause now as far as opening it and using it for any future "pass-thru" service, and risking a ding on the edge of the glass leading to a possible failure. I probably won't be doing it going forward.

    Welcome to TacomaWorld. :proposetoast:
