I may have regrets if the rumors of a return to the V6 are true. Gas mileage is not the current engine's forte. So a V6 shouldn't matter, there.

    All-factory options at this point.
Guilty as charged! And yep probably more time since semi-retirement- I got jacked up about this truck and for me that equals yack. My old man was a newspaper editor and he would look at some of my school papers, red-line and cross out half of it out. Never learned-!

I am keeping my 3G Tacoma and will get the 6G 4R as a daily, I think that's the best of both worlds. Even though the new 4G Tacoma and 6G 4R are very similar, after test driving both back to back I just can't help but feel the 4R has a higher finishing quality. Less noises, less flimsy plastic, materials seem to be of higher quality and the paint was better in person on the 4R. It's odd because I know it's the same drivetrain but the 4R just seemed to drive better and was better put together. The Tacoma also had a poorer turning radius compared to the 4R but this is obvious due to the wheelbase difference. This leaves me wondering if Toyota is sourcing parts from different suppliers for made in Mexico vs made in Japan?

EDIT: Turns out there is a difference between parts sourced for made in Mexico vs Japan. In the 2nd video he states the 6G 4R is of higher quality compared to the 4G Tacoma.

Others disagree with the the 4R having higher quality interior materials and noise, but agree on the paint.

    Talk about overpriced!

    I bought a new 2024 4Runner Off-road Premium this time last year for $46,000. OTD for $49,000.

The 2025 4Runner Off-road Premium with moonroof and tow tech is $58,265 MSRP. Dealers around here are discounting some, but not much. Probably looking at $55k plus port and dealer adds, then TTL on top of that.

My dealer has a nice silver 2025 4Runner Off-road premium loaded for just under $62,000. I’d be hard pressed to get out the door for $59k.

The buying environment will likely be a lot better in 12 months but the 4Runner prices are much higher than they used to be.

It’s a new gen and the feature set is not comparable even if the trim name is the same.

My point is that comparing it to last gen’s 4runner just because they both say “off road premium” isn’t a way to tell if it is “overpriced” or not.

If the feature set was the same, maybe. But only the name is.

The feature set is similar. The various off-road modes are similar, locking differential, etc. Any dumbass can see the engine, powertrain, transmission are new. I own an off-road 2024 Tacoma with the Premium package which is nearly identical to the 2025 4Runner off-road premium. I think I am in a good position to compare the vehicles, and the value. Sorry you don’t agree.

There is not a vehicle currently produced that is not overpriced. ALL of them. Not arguing, just my opinion…but what is not overpriced these days.
