Hey guys just curious to see how many of you have had problems like seized bolts and stuff during your alignments so I can prepare my self. I’ll be getting some work done so I wanna come prepared, don’t wanna have to leave my truck at the shop due to work.

if you had any problems please recommend any precautions I should take before I take mine in, I been spraying hell out my truck with wd40 lol…

here is what my lower control arms look like

Unfortunately, there's really no way to know for sure until you actually try adjusting the cams. It's a tight fit between the cam bolts and the inner sleeve of the bushing, any rust or corrosion can cause them to seize up. I'd definitely start soaking the bolts with PB Blaster or a similar penetrant every few days before bringing it into the shop.

Worst-case scenario, the bolts may need to be hammered out or removed with an air hammer, and you'll need to replace them. In some cases, the shop may recommend new lower control arms, but a competent and patient technician should be able to remove the bolts without replacing the arms even if he or she has to hack at them a bit. Bushings do look a little dry rot though, might think about replacing the arms for good measure...just something to consider.

Don’t even waste your time. Just have the shop cut the bolts out and replace with a whole new LCA setup with bushings and new cam adjuster bolts. When I went to lift my 2020 back in 2020 it had literally 300 miles on it and the lower control arm bolts were already tough as hell to adjust.

    This....

If the bolts are seized. Cut them out.
If doing bushings, Replace the whole LCA.

BTW, cheap sawzall blades are NOT advised.

They seize to the bushings…cut them out, get OEM hardware, and new lca’s. Cheaper and easier than fighting the bushings

might slap some alignment tab gussets on while you’re there.

you can find rebuilt lca’s pretty cheap…the thing to not scrimp on is the OEM hardware…and they are proud of it…I think I paid 109 for the hardware and around 300 for the lca’s

the shop time pressing the bushings will probably add up to more than lca’s

I think I ordered some from extreme terrain. I think they were packaged by freedom off-road. They are just a stop gap for me as I’m upgrading in the not too distant future

I got some on Amazon and was very impressed they were identical to oem. Was 80 for all 4 bolts.
