This thread has a click bait title.
Everything that follows is nature doing its thing. And entirely predictable.

Same as "20,000 mile OCI and my truck runs great!"

@gpb interesting observation sir, I was told by a dealer in the southeast region (South Carolina) that the southeast region allocations are more difficult to tweak since it goes through the southeast distributor first and therefore, by they time it gets in their website, the vehicle is closer to the build. This is purely anecdotal info though and I trust salesmen as far as I can throw them. :)

A few, mainly added skids. I like leaving the suspension alone. I drive forest service dirt roafs in the desert west extremely extremely too fast. Toyota nailed this suspension going 65 across desert terrain. Changing it is dumb unless you have a specific need like crawling or mud.
Maybe I missed something. Where is the photo of the truck? Its all smoke and mirrors until you have a pic in the driveway. Yes Toyota will allow you to customize an order, and they love taking a deposit on them. But 2 years later that sales manager will say "your the first in line for the first one we get"

I was on a wait list for a MT PRO i "configured" for over 2 years. Finally just found the exact truck in wanted and flew to it.

But people have the ability to learn to do better than their worst instincts. Learning is part of nature too.

Ok I'll call myself out before someone else does....

Yeah, it's tougher in SETD territory. My local dealer is one of the very few who claims to be able to specifically option a vehicle. They were able to do it with my 2017 and delivered in 3-4 weeks. Maybe I was lucky, maybe I wasn't, but I was able to get the exact build I wanted. When I was shopping while concerned my 3rd gen might get totally, they again claimed the ability and a sales manager produced a build sheet with exactly the options I wanted and none that I didn't want. I've not followed through to purchase so it could be smoke and mirrors, but I suspect not.

Speculating: I see a lot of SETD dealers where one dealer seem to get certain options on most of their trucks and another seems to regularly get a different config. That suggests to me the dealer has some control over the distributor installed options to suit their local market. Whether they can or will work with someone to option an allocation will likely vary. I also suspect the less common the base build is they less chance one might be able to adjust the options. And lastly, if a dealer know they can easily sell a truck with tons of extra crap and only get so many trucks allocated, will they be inclined to use one of their allocations for a much less optioned (and less profitable) sale?

The words “custom allocation” in the title are in quotation marks which is a technique to make it clear that the words are being used sarcastically or at less than full compliance to the normal meaning of the surrounded words.

I am now armed to deal with stupid, lazy and self serving salesman.

Really, I don’t want to deal with those people. Way too many are liars or so misinformed that they are more misleading than liars.

I would be happier configuring my order online.

Title has been edited at least twice since its creation.
But "thanks" for "explaining" the usage of quote marks in forum parlance.

the title was edited to make complainers like you more satisfied (by adding extra qualifiers) but some how some way you still want to pontificate about how it’s inaccurate

it’s like giving a guy a $100 tip and him complaining about not getting $200

Some folks, I’ll say it again, just wanna hate

they wake up each morning and hate while ironing their shirt

We need an experiment with the ford, chevy, nissan, ram and gladiator guys to see if any of them are more pedantic.

On the RRaptor forums we argue about the warranty on the Ford Performance tune more than anything. One douche nozzle keeps claiming that Ford won't deny his any warranty claim since he installed the tune himself versus ASE or Ford dealer doing it (per the warranty regulations). Oh and one guy wants to put 20" on his RRaptor, he was made fun of promptly.

Pretty sure all Ford Perfomance products need to be installed at the dealer or a red seal ASE approved shop or mechanic. I don't know what a red seal is, and yeah ASE at the very least. For Ford to even entertain a warranty claim. Eww to 20" rims on a RR.
