I think the humidity level in Chapel Hill is higher than it is in Tampa.

I should just move back to Tampa FFS.

    Never ever ever say that...

    Moving back to Tampa?
Might as well say I wanna live in a psych ward

But the humidity can get higher here, that land/sea wind interaction keeps the air moving some, here it can just sit

Tampa is by far my favorite large city in America. Clean, good food scene, good 3rd wave coffee, DJs come there on the regular, pristine roads for us Euro car guys, good Cars and Coffee, perfect winter weather. What it doesn't have is geography I can get down with.

People love citing "Florida man" and the some of the heinous crimes, and I admit those exist, but California has that too. I don't miss sweating the hurricanes either.

I just checked Tampa's humidity, it is lower than here right now. And it does rain everyday in Florida during summer. I did love sitting on Kennedy Blvd in summers in my favorite coffee shop and watching the rain.

You can also use Sam’s Club codes at Walmart gas stations and get .10/gal off. It pays for itself traveling for sure. If they have what you use, it’s a net savings.

Very true. I do enjoy my time when I visit Norcal. I really loved Folsom and not for the prison. In fact, my N scale railroad layout I'm building will be patterned after a northern California town with railway. I loved the bridge in Folsom with the huge American flag on it. That will be in the layout.

I agree most of those positive attributes exist but none of them offset the reality of living in FL

I spent 15 years there - it becomes a horrid grind after about the 2nd or 3rd year
Fucking tourists and cheap trashy people
The FL man thing is real too - met a few IRL -
And everyone is a fucking asshole - which in turn made me an asshole

    Here, people aren't assholes
Which makes me be -not an asshole- which makes my life much more pleasant

The Dali Museum in St. Pete is the bomb tho 100%
The Ringling Museum down in Sarasota is also very very nice
    Both on great property too

    IMG_0561.jpg Trackplan_3d_2.png

I'm just getting started. I really don't do well when something gives me resistance. My cross braces for the bench work, the wood is warped a little bit so I'm clamping it and I need to go back to the shop space I'm renting to finish the bench work. I pay $60 a month to have access to all these tools and work bench.

I'm not totally stoked with this track plan either, it needs tweaks. I want to run 2 trains. I want a smaller passenger tram to run in the layout. A guy in Switzerland did this plan for me so I need to get with him and see if we can make some changes.
