Those trickstuff pads you sent when I bought the codes off you were solid…they died a tragic death during a wet 50 mile race haha.

I replaced with MTX gold and red and those have been great too. I still prefer TRPs but codes with that setup are good.

What are you catching those lunkers on? Just went out yesterday, caught a few little guys on a Caddis that they were hitting. But none of the bigger ones were rising. Thinking of trying some sow bugs, drakes, or rainbow midges.

I always had better luck on these green sowbugs around the Provo moreso than anything else. Elkhair caddis was usually my #2.

Yea... got XO T-type on the wife's new XC rig and it just seems so much burlier without a derailleur hanger involved.

The mention of the dust getting in the line reminds me that I haven't put a new shifter cable on in a while. I will likely do that and see if it helps. I also have some new Schwalbe radials ready to go on and the brakes feel great right now with a fresh bleed and pads.

Anyone here ride in the Flagstaff area or have trail knowledge of the area? I'm going to be out there and looking to ride July 25-27th so any input would be great...

I go pretty far out to where the fish doesn't see much pressure (the Big Lost Range). I actually only used Parachute Adams and Elk Hair Caddis in size 16-ish seems my eyes are getting pretty bad. Also, all were caught on a 3wt 7'6" sage so they felt like great white sharks. I almost never nymph when I'm in home waters.

    Thanks fellas.
Seems like the Provo fish like the green bugs. The young'ens seem to go for the elk hair caddis, but the bigger fish don't seem to fall for them.
I also don't really enjoy nymph fishing, but willing to throw a few when the big ones are just sitting there, waiting for them.
I have some greenish Adams I'm going to try, as well as some of those sow bugs and emergers. Wish me luck!

You guys posting all of these fishing pictures are making me jelly. I fly fish a lot here in Alabama and some out in the Marshall islands. As you can see (zoom in), I’ve got a lot of work to do with saltwater.IMG_1084.jpg IMG_0896.jpg IMG_6581.jpg

Getting the DH rig sorted. She's a ripper. Snoqualmie has some interesting tech stuff to keep you on your toes.

Looking for more thoughts on tires haha. I have a dissector DH casing maxxgrip. I had it up on pinkbike but thinking of putting it on the new e-bike and getting double down assegai for the front. Are tires like conti kryptotal or schwalbe radials worth trying though? How do their super soft compare to maxxgrip?

    @abacall haha

lol. Happy to chime in. My knees are still healing, I'm on summer break. I'm bored....
The radials are 100% worth trying. If you like the Assegai, the Albert pattern is very similar. Intermediate condition, faster rolling, no big channel. If you ride more loose and looking for more traction up front, the Magic Mary is hard to beat. Honestly, I use it for everything.
I like the Kryptos for the rear, they are super durable and provide great predictable traction up and down, tough casing for the weight. Their apex insert resists pinch flatting well. I used the Alberts on the back, and they worked great, but wore out a bit faster and cost more than the Kryptos. DHRII are still great, but again, pricey. I'm typically not too picky about rear tires. Tough casings, good grip, reasonable weight, good rolling.
I ride a whole lot of everything, and the only place I think that combo doesn't shine for me is bike park smooth bermy runs where I'm loading the shit out of everything. Occasionally I'll feel a squirm. The only tires that don't do that would be DH casing, single compound, park dedicated setups. No thanks.
Since so much of the riding control and feel comes from the front, the radials will likely live there for a long time. The back is different, there's so much leverage from the suspension and kinematics control the feel more than tire choice. I want something that I can throw around and not rip the knobs off or flat. I ride a MX setup on all 3 bikes now (Transition Repeater, Santra Cruz Nomad, Santa Cruz 5010) and I love to get the back end loose. My rear tires don't last long.

Love the dissector but they don't last and it will get chewed on the eeb very quickly. You could pair it with anything on front Assg , DHF, DHR2, definitely at least a DD casing.

The radials are the shiz. I was out on the dual Magic Mary ultra soft gravity on the DH bike this last wknd and got nothing but confidence from them. I was running them pretty high too @ 28 f/r where on a super DH casing I would be running like 22/25. In my experience the new Schwalbe ultra soft rubber might be slightly less tacky than a Maxxgrip in the wet but the knobs don't undercut and tear off like the Maxxis lasting way longer.

Put an Albert trail soft on the front of my short travel recently. It's been awesome.

The speedgrip Nobby Nic on back is terrible though. I'll continue on the search for low rolling resistance but still enough grip. The specialized ground control was much better. Need to try a new Forekaster too.

Have you tried the Conti Xynotal? Love them for the trail bike, might be the ticket.

Yes. Have run a couple of those. More rolling resistance than what I want for the little bike.

Might have to try a Magnotal if they're available yet.
