Windshield Replacement

Need to get a new one. Did you get the sensors recalibrated and how much did you pay? Got quoted $650 for new glass and recalibration.

 

Thats cheap...must be aftermarket glass

 

I think I paid 1200 at longo Toyota a few years ago

 

Do you have Comprehensive coverage on your insurance?
If so, I would go that route.

true guru with window install with over 30+ years and honest and friendly. I advise you to stay away from safelight. They are not what they used to be.

 

Safelite wanted $1k, Toyota wanted 2k and the one closest to me actually has a glass guy come to do the calibration. Not sure how much calibration cost from safelight but I couldn’t even imagine the out the door cost of doing it yourself being less than a $1000 deductible for comprehensive. Obviously if you have a lesser deductible, that would be even better.

 

Make sure they use pilkington not fuya the pilkington is oem glass and fuya is shit garbage

 

Got pilkington windshield for 275 from a buddy. No recalibration required.

It was. My buddy said you don’t have to remove the windshield camera radar thing or even unplug it. Just slide it off.

 

Where did he get it from I called 20 windshield guys in SoCal they all said they refuse to do business with pilkington since they don’t deliver

 

Our truck is on its third windshield which has a few random dings (is #4 on the horizon?).
