That’s a great reminder. This one hit us coming into Idaho from Utah with 70+ mile an hour gusts, hail and rain coming down so hard we couldn’t see. I’m thankful we made it through without damage.

 

we’ve prob met in passing, star parties are one of my fave thing about living at the canyon.
Shouldn’t be any changes for south rim camping. Except that it may be harder to get sites…
I’ve crossed the canyon many times and many diff ways too. All too sad right now… and especially in a funk mood as yesterday was the anniversary of our home lost to a wildfire.

 

im never sure if the right word is Belgium or Belgian.
But related story. Airport bar. Brand-baby-new bartender. Prob just turned 21 the week before.
Me: what’s on tap?
Him: lists a few beers, by brand, not varietal. Whatever…
Me: what beer is the ShockTop?
Him: it’s… a… Belgian white. But the poor kid doesn’t say Belgian… he says
bell-ahh-she-ann
Me: internally laughing hysterically. I’ll have that, please.

Beautiful. Tahoe is on my list, although I want to see it from the Rubicon trail. I still have pipe dreams of driving an old Willys flat fender over the trail.

Ironically, I spelled it wrong ( Maybe phonetically in my brain...) I just had to look at the ice cream container to verify that it is, in fact, spelled Belgian. I better go eat some to make sure it still tastes the same after changing how I spell the name.

 

Walter you would have more fun on the Fordyce Creek trail . there are some very technical sections that will raise your heart beat . I've done this trail a few times when the CA4WDC club had their annual club run

The Rubicon trail has been run so many times alot of the technical sections can be almost run in 2wd
