Hello all 3rd gen community, recently bought a used, new to me '23 pro with 31150k, took out the red trd air filter cause I don’t wanna buy the cleaning solution then having to wait for the filter to completely dry before oiling it, besides I've heard these oiled filters can clog up the MAF sensor and get the throttle body dirty as well, so I'm switching to a dry element, what say the community on air filter brands?, just whatever or are there some hardcore guys out here that like a particular brand?

ALMOST had to jumpstart my battery with my NOCO GB40. But it did start, although the information display had reset to "default screen". So I drove it 25 minutes on freeway to get charge back up. Rather explains why my GPS unit battery was dead a couple of days ago ... too much AZ heat, too much short-hop driving, etc. The vehicle system shut down the 12V socket when voltage threshold dropped. Original battery in a 2022 as far as I know, so no real surprise.

Seems Toyota will get a visit from me tomorrow. Unless Toyota OEM is considered too much trash to spend the money and you good people warn me off ...

I know that Wallyworld Neverstarts are recommended but I usually try to avoid Wallyworld on general principle (their 37.5 hour workweeks to avoid health benefits and pay rates).

Purchased Toyota Certified, with Vijay bumpers, additional lights, and Falken Wildpeaks on Fuel rims. Prev owner apparently painted the grill.
My '19 sienna needs a new battery, it takes the same size as the Tacoma. I've been in analysis paralysis over which way to go.

Costco has a 24F with better numbers for about the same cost.

I have done some air filter testing in the past, as well as read about air filter CFM flow bench testing and then Engine Master did a Dyno test on a few air filters at Westech Performance Group and they all have pretty much came to the same conclusion, don't over think it, if it fits correctly-run it, they all flow similar CFM numbers and show very similar results on the dyno...

Advance Auto seems to be carrying a pretty good battery, IIRC Costco caries Interstate batterys...

Toyota installs car batteries in the Tacoma. I've had 1x replaced under warranty in my 2017 and that one started to fail 2 years after that so I installed a larger battery with higher cranking amps because I do run several lighting accessories.

The longest lasting, strongest battery I've owned, is, INTERSTATE. IIRC it lasted over 11 years.

I had a factory Ford battery last 9 years, only reason I replaced it was that it started leaking, but the car was starting fine on it until it came out. I was impressed.

I installed an Interstate battery in my old van years ago, then the van died a few years later, my sons Cobalt battery died so he took the battery out of the van, after awhile the Cobalt messed up so he let it sit (outside) for 5 years without touching it, then I got tired of it not running and we started to mess with it again, battery tested 0.1 volts, I put it on my smart charger and fault with it, had to hook jumper cables to it to put a little juice in it before the smart charger would even start to charge it, once "charged" it showed like 70%, so over the course of a week or two, I charged, then let sat over night then charged again and at some point the charged did a desulfate to the battery, and that was back in Oct 2023 and knock on wood, it is still going strong, I keep saying I am going to check the date code... lol

Haha, or just run a much smaller velocity stack with a filter...

In my line of work I've dealt with batteries no small amount. Talking to one of the sales rep one day he stated that the vast majority of batteries for different companies are made at the same plant. When they come off the main assembly line they are just directed to other assembly lines that take them to different areas where the different manufacturer labels are stuck on them. So when you start talking about company A's battery being better than company B's, there's a good chance they both came from the same plant. That said, that conversation took place 20 plus years ago, maybe things have changed between now and then.
