In days of yore lights were meant to signify what the emergency vehicle was capable of.
Blue = Police
Red = Fire
White = Medical
Amber = Traffic Management
Green = Oxygen Tank onboard

Now O2 is pretty standard on everything.

I found that if you put all or part of the dollars you were paying into a high interest guaranteed savings investment, you would have a good portion saved for when you get your next one.

 

Replaced interior lights with Cali Raised LED’s. The map lights were a pain. The duck tape trick didn’t work at all. Just made the bulbs all sticky. Got them out with a pair of hemostats and wiggled them a little. Lucky I didn’t bust a bulb. I noticed the tag and map lights are the same. I also noticed the rear camera view is not good with the LED’s. I guess I will keep the new tag LED’s for when a map light burns out.

 

Pull the whole overhead console and twist the bulbs out the back next time

 

With the new LED’s, they will easily pull out now. Will never put back in the old OEM bulbs again. Plus I avoid screwing with interior plastic parts as much as possible. I’ll end up breaking a plastic tab off or cracking some plastic. The interior plastic in these Tacomas is not the highest quality.

 

I’ve done that, too. Stop at a red light, look both ways, and continue, before getting that “Wait a minute…” realization. Luckily - “no witnesses”.

Started the process of getting stuff put "into place" (if you will).

1. Found some factory steps on FB. Dude wanted $100 for them. Got them down to $75. Said the wife wanted them out and they'd been sitting a wile. He took my $75 and ran. Easy install.



2. Took off the front air dam. I understand why Toyota puts them on there (to protect stuff by the radiator and such), but damn it looks so much better without it.




3. Put in a bed mat. Now stuff will quit sliding around.

4. Put in some amber LEDs from Amazon. Amazon says they don't work, but they do. Also got a few more basic goodies come in from Amazon.

Installed the seat jackers a few days ago to raise the rear bolts. So far so good.

 

So I have a general question: I wanna put a rear facing camera inside truck by the rear glass. I don't wanna spending a lot of money. Is there a decent one where I can run a power source to a the interior fuse box? I have a Garmin Mini2 for up front.

 

I also have the Mini 2 up front and want to get a rear one as well and make it look clean. I have two OEM power ports in my center console, I haven't personally done it yet but I'm planning on running the cable behind my rear seat, under the carpet up under the center console and plugging it into the port as my power source.

 

The ride’s solid. It’s a step down from stock due to the bigger tires (and them being r/t rather than a true a/t), but nothing harsh. I went with the 5th perch setting up front for a 2-inch lift and added a 1-inch rear block. Visually and by measurement, it sits nearly level.
