Good morning fellas :hattip: Fish on! Name the river

We finally got some decent rains yesterday but nothing major and no flooding. The pool is up to the full line and my weeds are turning green already. Some thunder rumbling in the distance this morning and the weather app has rain possible for the next couple of hours then it’s out of here.

Today and tomorrow is the radio club “hamfest”. It’s like a gun show for ham radio gear and the big fundraiser for the club. I’ll be busy helping set up, gofer, and tearing down for the weekend so I probably won’t be around much this weekend.

Have a great Fanny Friday and weekend!

Good morning guys! I hope you had a great weekend and today is as painless as possible.

Scorcher down here for the next 2 days, heat index of up to 108 both days. I’m headed out the door for a walk before I melt.

Good luck with the fish Jim!

Good morning guys, have a great Taco Tuesday! Time to get to mowing.

Rusty or anyone else, do you have a go to website for mower repair parts? I’m needing a new deck and both steering knuckles. My camber is way out of spec lol.

Messicks is very good for in stock parts and ships fast.
    https://www.messicks.com/

I have used Jacks' Small Engines as well.
    https://www.jackssmallengines.com/

If it is an MTD built machine parts are readily available on AMZ.

Use your model & serial number to find a parts diagram, then plug the part numbers in for a search.

Depending on the machine it may be more cost effective to replace it than buying a deck.

What kind of mower are we talking about here?

Good morning guys :hattip: I hope you had a great Wednesday and today also. It was babysitting for us yesterday and at 1700 yesterday afternoon the other grandmother called in sick for today  So I have the girls again today. We also have them tomorrow for most of the day as my son needs to get some stuff done at their house.

Rusty, thanks for the websites. The mower in question is my old Husquvarna lawn tractor, about a 2012 vintage. It’s a Kohler powered 21 HP model with about 450 hours on the engine. It runs fine, doesn’t smoke and makes good power. I do need to adjust the valves as it sometimes backfires on shutdown.

My yard is pretty sandy and the deck gets sandblasted regularly and I hade used the bagger to collect leaves the past few years. I think that’s what really took its toll on the deck. It’s made a hole in the deck just behind the discharge chute that I’ve had welded up a couple of times. The welder told me last time there wasn’t enough material to weld up anymore if it blows out again and it has. The front steering knuckles have wore out the sinstered bushings they ride in and have lost their caster. I don’t know how the bearing surface will look when I pull it apart so I was thinking about replacing them too. I know the mower is old but I really don’t want to drop the masonry on a new one just yet. I’m still hoping to get my yard in shape then I’ll get a new one.

Using the model & serial numbers the suspension parts should be no problem.

The deck problem sounds like a valid reason to buy a new MIG welder. ;)
