Lol. I hope the boss doesn't pay that invoice in a hurry.

I'm sure you will figure it out. It's a pretty simple system and the pumps come apart easy.

I'm a little confused. Those pumps are not supposed to sit in water, the water is supposed to come in from the top. Are there holes drilled in the bottom of the pump to make it act like a sump pump?

found your problem. you called an hvac guy. if it's a drain line problem, you need a plumber.

really needed to call an electrician first to understand why the unit was shutting down...

and with enough effort, maybe you can contact a framer and a mason as well to help with this conundrum!

look again at his first picture. the knockout on the lift pump is punched out on the back of the unit. the up-close picture of the lift pump is the opposite side of the lift pump. in that series of pictures, it's already been moved inboard from where it was, where the drain line would feed directly into the pump.

i was confused at first as well, so started zooming way into all the pictures...

i've seen those lines get plugged with all sorts of laboratory-like growth. i'd first try blowing the line out. but that's only preferable if you know where the other end goes.

I was thinking that was the case, too. Lots of science project develope in that condensation drain water.

I'm also fine with peeps thinking I'm a dumb ass, too. Lol.

But I hope all can agree the ass clowns that call themselves HVAC techs need to be sent to the bottom of the list for future service calls. Amirite?

    ^^^ True ^^^

If the HR guy was really excited about "the new compensation program" you instantly knew it was terrible for the employees.

Boss leases this building so he called the landlord and they called “the man”.

That’s why I’m not trying to “fix” it

What if you split it in half, then turned down the last 1/4 inch?

That would be amazing, if I had a way to split it. It's 14 3/4" O.D.

    A cut off tool?

It would have to be able to cut 4” deep and stay straight…..and not load up and break off.

Our longest cut off tool can cut 1 1/2” deep and it don’t cut straight when it gets deep.

Trust me, if I had an easier way than turning it off, I would.
