    I usually spray some brake cleaner or penetrating oil on it for lubrication and then use a seal lip tool or a pick to get pressure under the tabs and pop them up to release

    Easy does it, if you ham-fist it they break. Technically they want you to squeeze on the outer ring part to "magically" release the tabs but that rarely works

    Another example of a fitting or connection that is all about ease of install (at the factory) and they could care less about how easily it comes back apart

    Yeah sprayed a little juice on it and carefully wiggled it off.
