Good morning CT.

Came home from work, ate and laid on the couch, fell asleep. Just got up. Heat was brutal at work today.
The rain helped for about 10 minutes.

Going to get all my electrical stuff together. Going to work later and get some stuff done. Working on the BIL's Jeep after that.

CEL is coming on and off. I'll diagnose it when I get around to it. If it's the EVAP pump (charcoal canister), I have one that I bought a while ago because the brackets are rusted where the wiring for the rear axle attaches.

 

Just saw a fox carrying a rabbit in it's mouth. First time I've ever seen a fox around here.

 

Wife said she spotted a coyote around here the other day

We had a couple families of foxes living in our back yard over the years. The screaches/howls they do at night are haunting.

Ahhh ,the joys of home ownership.

Couple weeks back, I noticed a small drip below one of my oil tanks.
These tanks are only 3 years old and were installed by the previous owner.
Single wall 275s.
My furnace guy put on a magnetic patch and that stopped the leak.
We were trying to figure out what caused it.
He said bio-fuel does some strange stuff.
I was freaking out figuring the other tank wasn't far behind.

Sooo, I got the tank replaced by a new double wall with a 25 year warranty.
Rolled the dice and kept the other tank.

When they cut the old tank in half, no corrosion ,clean as new.
I felt good about the other tank now.
I sprayed brake cleaner around the bad spot and a good size hole showed up.
Could have been a disaster if it let go.

Roughly a 3/8 hole.

He said this tank got dropped or otherwise damaged during transport or install.

WTF!. Last thing I needed right now.
At least they should outlast my lifespan.





Almost looks like a stud/bold head punched it. almost looks like a washer outline too.

 

Heard horror stories of tanks being removed and not removing the filler. Company arrives and delivers oil to the wrong house. Oil in basement.

 

That's as bad as when a friend was dating his present wife, they fueled the boat.
She stuck the gas nozzle in one of the rod holders and pumped a couple gallons into the bilge.
He wasn't too happy.

 

That must've smelled for quite a while.
