Paid $100 for it from a friend in 2004. Bought it because it was pretty and reminded me of the LP Studio Lite I saw Alex from Finch use.

I swapped a SD JB into the bridge.

You'd be surprised, my taste is more than just the heavy stuffs. Seen Huey Lewis twice for instance..

Their early work was a little too new wave for my tastes, but when Sports came out in '83, I think they really came into their own, commercially and artistically. The whole album has a clear, crisp sound, and a new sheen of consummate professionalism that really gives the songs a big boost. He's been compared to Elvis Costello, but I think Huey has a far more bitter, cynical sense of humor.

Also, I still don’t know what to think about semi-hollows. I have the DeLonge Starcaster and ES-333. They’re cool, but they’re just so…big.

My first guitar was a Strat copy so I’ve always somewhat gravitated towards that body.

Agiles used to be such crazy bang for buck, I should've got one years ago when they were like 300 bucks new...
I love semi-hollows, huge resonant projection and super light, I have the artcore and a semi hollow Squier Tele I've had for like 12 years now. Pink is the ibby, blue is the tele

I read this like Spencer from Ice Nine Kills says it in Hip to be Scared. Right before the break down

Makes a lot of sense. The music video and song is about the movie. (And they're from Boston, the band is) feel free to watch the whole video or skip to 1:40. Most of their newer stuff is about older horror movies

WIITB is a fantastic album. MBR has a special place in my heart because like @Brownmatthall said they were locals for me

    Yup, right next door

"Do you like Ice Nine Kills?
    Not really
Their early work was a little bit too "scene" for me
But when "The Silver Scream" came out
I think they really came into their own
    Commercially and artistically
The whole album has a refined melodic sensibility
That really makes it a cut above the rest
    Hey, Paul!!!"

Goddamn I love what that band has become, especially how self-aware they are

Love it. I still remember hearing The Greatest Fall on the 2nd Atticus compilation album which lead me directly to the album. My only other MBR story (since they weren't local to me) is when I first started dating my wife her younger sister had a party at her parents' house and in between all the random early-mid 2000s R&B / pop / rap, MBR somehow made it on the list and she's singing along to the screaming part. To this day I don't think I've seen her listen to anything remotely punk / emo / screamo except that one song.

Surprisingly I don't think there's that many scene bands local to me or I have any personal connection to outside of A Loss For Words. I was good friends with the lead singer in elementary school but when I moved at the end of 6th great we lost touch.

There were a handful of bands in the area that saw some decent success actually, Moving Mountains comes to mind right away and Coheed is from Nyack accross the Hudson from us, but I know there were more. Was always a cool aspect of being a musician, you were never more than 1 or 2 degrees of separation from those bands

Was Just Surrender or I Am The Pilot near you? I had a friend from my Honda days who sorta knew the guys from I Am The Pilot who knew Just Surrender (or A Second Chance as they were originally known). I really liked the demo version of A Second Chance's "You Tell A Tale" from the Purevolume / Drive Thru sampler CD. The album version as Just Surrender lost some of its edge, but that first Just Surrender CD got a LOT of play in late college.

I have a Moving Mountains song in my collection from a Warped 2011 compilation CD. I think by 2009-2010 I was starting to get out of the discover music all the time era as I was out of college and wasn't going to shows at all anymore, but I would have definitely dug this if I had more time to listen to music then.
