Which tires should I get?

I'm down to 2 tires now. BFG ATs and Mastercraft Courser CTs. They're both great tires for what I'm going to do, but which one would be better for wintry roads and which one would last longer?

 

beats me. look up how they are rated for snow/winter and what kind of expected mileage they get. warranty too.

 

I have bfgs and I think they do pretty well in the snow. Never had a problem going up my driveway with a little bit of snow either.

 

those bfg at's are unbelievable in snow! i've been romping around tahoe thru the gnarliest storms of one of the gnarliest winters in a long time. nothing can even slow me down no matter how hard it's dumping it's insane. actually, i get really frustrated because my wipers ice up and my visibility forces me to stop long before the truck is even challenged. i don't even need 4wd the vast majority of the time. no experience with the others but i love those BFGs.

 

My mom's suburban has had the same set of BFG's for almost 60k miles and they're awesome in the snow.

best A/T's on the market IMO

 

BFG makes one of the best if not the best A/T on the market. Why else does everybody try to copy their tread pattern. Awesome in the snow and very quiet and friendly on the street. Just my opinion of course.

 

General Grabbers? almost identical to the bfg, likely a bit cheaper..

 

Im on the same boat as you man, undecided, but I dont know the mastercrafts...

 

Had the BFG on my truck for a few winters. They did pretty good in snow. Not phenomenal but decent. Honestly my Mud Terrains are far superiour in the snow than the BFGs though.

That being said, nothing but a dedicated winter tire or a tire with studs is going to help you on ice. The BFGs slid like mad on ice.

I have not found a better tire in the snow. Not to mention they last forever.

i have the firestone at they done me no wrong in the winter or any ware proplems. have 25 t miles and still have 3/4 tred left. and at 120.00 mounted and balanced there great for the money.
