Gracenote radio failure

The gracenote HD radio in my son’s 2015 Tacoma has failed, the serial number on the front of that radio is 510079. There is a similar radio listed on eBay that is 510080 from the same model year as his vehicle. Does anyone know if this would be a plug-in play application.
Any input would be helpful thank you.

 

What exactly has failed? Radio no longer powers up? Screen black?

 

Radio powers up, Screen becomes hazy gray and does not allow you to go into any functions

 

Have you tried a soft reset? Key on, turn the radio on, press and hold the radio power button until the radio reboots.

 

Tried has no effect. There is no volume as well.
