Just purchased my first Tacoma last week it’s a 2010 SR5 2.7 4cyl auto. 207k miles very clean frame and body bought it from a guy who had owned it since 2012 bought it for $5k. What are some things I should look at replacing at this mileage and what problems should I expect? How many more miles can I expect to get out of the engine and tranny? Any input would be appreciated I feel like I got a good deal on it glad to have finally found a solid Tacoma I’ve been looking for years.

Yes I did check for frame rust. Frame is in unbelievable shape. It was always garaged so that definitely helps.

Oh yeah, I think you did fine.
Peruse the forum here, you'll find a lot of good information. Did he have service records or at least keep track of maintenance, oil changes, etc.?
I write all of mine in my maintenance book so Toyota wouldn't have any records on mine, so don't let that bother you. Heck, I even skipped all the free oil changes in the beginning because I trust myself to do it right more than a dealership service. Some are really good, just sayin'....

Welcome to TW! Looks like a good deal!

This is a great forum with a lots of useful information. As suggested above, determine status of maintenance items and go from there. All the maintenance frequencies and how to instructions are on here, you just need to find them.

If the truck has been taken care of and you continue with maintenance, you'll get a lot more miles out of it.

Thats a great deal! And sweet ride!

Just go through fluids especially in the transmission as you go along: Drain and fill with Castrol or Valvoline import multi vehicle fluid (buy 5 quarts) and a new drain plug washer

The million mile Tacoma had that same engine and I believe he replaced engine at 750K even though it just had a blown head gasket. Just change your oil.

The A340 4-speed is more robust than anything in the 3rd or 4th gen trucks, so you are good there.

    Good luck!

You did great ! Mine is identical to yours, except I have 79k on it. Did you get maintenance records ? Oil change every 5K. I would do a drain and fill on the trans (not a flush). Simple to do on our year model because we have a dipstick and tranny drain plug. Use Toyota trans fluid.

    It's a 5 lug, correct?

I love mine, does all I need it to do. Maybe even more.

We have a dedicated 5 lug forum you might want to spend time in.

While many things are common across various models in a specific gen of Tacoma, there are many things like the suspension that is different on our 5 lugs. So be careful when internet shopping that you are looking at the right bits.

Nice! Yes it has been well maintained
Nice that’s some low miles! Yes it has been very well maintained. I bought it from an older gentleman who took really good care of it. He bought a new one so that’s the reason why he sold it.

That’s exactly what I thought when I bought it. It doesn’t have one, no towing with it!

I think you got sweet little 5-lug there! Take care of that 2.7 four banger and it'll last you many moons. They're a very robust (but not particularly fast) engine. Many have gone half a million miles and more!
