Yes, pressure canning, thank you for catching it.
In my experience pressure canning works better than hot water canning, especially for larger, 1 quart or pint and a half jars. Jars come up to temp more uniformly and seal lids better. I've never had a lid not seal on the pressure canned jar, but it occasionally happens with the hot water bath. Pressure canned lid gives a louder "pop" when opened vs a hot bath lid. I am assuming it is due to lower inside pressure in one vs the other.

We actually started adding times to the hot water bath over what's recommended to ensure good seals. Ladeling 7 quart jars and then bringing them up to temp takes time and sauces/jams cool down.

Barsoom refers to the place of my birth. I am originally from Hastor, Barsoom.

We ran in the different circles growing up. He was in the palace in Helium. My dad made the best wireless finders for radium rifles on Barsoom. Everybody came to Hastor for them, green and red men alike.

Don't know who you are or what you believe.
I was surprised this thread didn't start until 2024.
This channel is one I watch and you may find of interest. Hopefully your not surprised it exists.

I wanted to hate this video. First impression was that we have a guy wearing all camo and in his world he needs to brandish a weapon on somebody at least three times a day. And then he's paired with the really annoying and dimwitted woman.

But then I kind of got sucked in. It was packed full of good information.

Wanted to hate it ? I'm puzzled. The channel is geared to farming threats . The people are farming people and often very simple.
Dimwitted, like a young man who wants to ban farming, because food comes from a grocery store.

That pile of grass is what comes from the gizzard of a yardbird, chicken. Free range they eat a lot of grass.

Might also be similarly dimwitted to people on a public forum insulting people that they know nothing about. "The people are farming people and often very simple." Really???

Elderberry is ripening, it'll be dried and vacuum sealed. It must be cooked to use.
It'll be on hand for cough syrup. Places like etsy also sell it and addition blends. Another note fig leaves can be dried and used for tea, it supposedly has some diabetic benefits, but I make no claims. Does have a nice fig flavor and added to my coffee grounds makes for a nice change.20250728_091044.jpg

When we had ducks, they stripped the elderberry bushes clean. They loved the berries.

19oz black krim, the purple type maters are my favorite. The flavor profile just sends my tastebuds into heaven. And to think most of this country eats green gas ripened chit.20250728_111732.jpg
