Anyone else have issue getting the PCS malfunction alarm when trying to use the radar cruise control? sometimes cruise control works fine, other times it happens when I try to set a speed. Alarm clears after I turn the truck on and off. My truck is a '22 trd or, and I only have about 17k miles on it. Not sure why its happening all of a sudden, and only thing I can think of is I hit a bird a month or two ago, but it hit the grill to the right of the radar sensor, and didnt hit the actual sensor

Have you checked the sensor to see if it's securely plugged in and attached? The bird hit while not direct could've shifted something enough to create an intermittent issue.

Yup, checked wiring, and everything looks normal

Have you tried a soft reset by unhooking the battery for 15 minutes?

Just trying to think of things to try. Seems like a strange issue - especially the intermittency

I would focus on the bird strike, what else could it be? Clean the radar sensor cover and make sure everything is positioned and oriented correctly. I wish I could be more help, but it has to have something to do with a bird splatting into your grill!

PS: But then again, what the hell do I know?

havent done the soft reset, yet, but did run a scanner and cleared any codes that were there. Also saw a video where a guy did a hard reset on the system by touching neg and pos cables together to drain power from the control units, then letting it sit for 3 hours. might try that out and see how it goes

cleaned the sensor, removed it to visually inspect and make sure its sitting correctly. I feel like the bird strike may be the culprit, and i might take it to toyota to see what they can find out, but Im almost positive they will just say I need a new sensor and im guessing its not covered under warranty
