    I have a set of click clats, the 2 hard plastic balls on a string and ring. I get them out on rare occasion to test a person. Iirc they too were pulled for safety reasons.

    When I was a kid my father had one of the long versions of these that was a plug in type. The neighbor down the street wanted to borrow it to trim his hedges so my father loaned it to him. In the neighbors wife's words, "Joe started using the hedge trimmer with one hand while brushing away clippings with the other. Within 2 minutes of using the tool he cut the tip of his finger off and when he jerked the trimmer back cut the cord in 2 places". She followed up the story with "What an idiot!". LOL
