I was supposed to be planning out a filter system and softener for a friend, but this whole order has been a nightmare. Notice anything missing here?

Never got the damn box that had the brine tank, control head, and installation stuff. :annoyed:

Luckily for me tech support is US base so we got a hold of someone real easily and allegedly have the parts on the way. Sets back my plans for the week.

Quick question on GFI kitchen outlet replacement. Mine are now 27 years old and the microwave is starting to trip the outlet once in a while. Micro is fairly new so hoping just a outlet replacement is a good start. I figured out that I have 1 set of 2 tied on same breaker and 2 more on another breaker ( different walls).
Anything special I need to know on the new install/ replacement and should I use 15 or 20 amp? Don't want to over think, thanks for any suggestions.

If fed from a 20amp breaker then I would put in a 20 amp GFCI outlet. Made a little better than the 15.

code says you can use either 15 or 20A outlets. unless it's dedicated to a specific device--then it would need to be a 20A. being 2 outlets per breaker means they fall under the 'general purpose' counter top circuits.

home depot has 'heavy duty' grade outlets that are good if you're constantly plugging/unplugging things. otherwise, i'd recommend at least tamper resistant outlets. many jurisdictions are moving towards requiring them, so if you ever go to sell, it'll be one step ahead of the house inspector.

Busy day. Got the rest of the Alaskan yellow cedar stained/sealed, joists taped, posts painted, and am getting courses screwed down. The older I get the less fun this becomes. IMG_4325.jpg IMG_4327.jpg IMG_4326.jpg

My last order was missing a couple of blue o rings for the softener control head. The brine tank and the wall mounted sediment filter and housing showed up the second day with no explanation from the shipping company as to why it was late. I know Aquasure has grown substantially since they started their company, but they've always followed through with their customer service/support. I really like their products and their prices are reasonable compared to some of the other companies out there.

What cameras or security system are you installing? I would like to upgrade mine but would have to do some drilling to run wires.

This would be the second time we've had to call support on this order. It is nice to be able to get someone out of the US, and after a couple back and fourth emails I'm hoping all is going to be solved.

I do like the Aquasure softener I put in back in May. I still have not needed to add any salt yet. I guess I don't use as much water as I thought. Pretty sure it went 12 days the one time between re-gens.

I dislike tamper resistant outlets (my experience is mostly in floating boxes mounted to drop ceiling tiles) but I do understand the purpose of having them where a child could stick something in to an outlet. That said a kitchen backsplash should not be such a location, island and standard wall, yes.

OH I've had to do some drilling.

I have lamented over installation since 2019 when I purchased the system, so finally got an estimate this month for $1,600.00 to have it installed. He said that was low. Guy said he was going to run conduit outside the house. I got OCD about my house. That price wasn't in my budget. I agreed to go buy the parts, he would give me an installation-only price. I got the parts. I called him to stop by, verify the parts, give me the quote to install. We made agreement to meet Monday, he couldn't make it; a staff called in sick, rescheduled for Friday, Ok. Nobody showed up Friday, no calls. I think he thought I was too cheap and wouldn't like his price, and I was thinking he would still charge 1k to install. F*(k it.

I took it step by step, day by day, Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and I got 2 cameras yet to hang (easy) at time of this post, and I still need to bolster all the conduit with about 50% more 1-hole straps which I hope to complete today Tuesday. I made a template for drilling the holes same distance from soffit so that was easy, but which was a mental hurdle took me a while to get over.

Anyway, currently 96 degrees here. Worked my azz out on this today already.

    Anyone else outside today?
