anybody know what size the filler hole on the rear differential is. I ordered a factory replacement plug and it is very cheap looking. Lowes has automotive drain plugs and m18x1.5 looks like it but want to be sure.

The OEM replacement bolt looks cheap?? It's a fill plug- not a body mount or something...Does it fit?? Cause I would think as long as it fits- It would be good to go.

well fill plug was stripped and basically had to hook vise grips to it and unscrew it out while pulling very hard. ordered new plug and now it doesnt want to go in nicely and i dont want to force it in bc i will just strip the new one. i thought if i get the proper thread pattern i could chase the threads with a tap before trying to get the new plug in.

Once you get a thread pitch measurement you can try and find a self tapping drain plug. they make them for oil plans- so if you can find the right size- It'll work just the same...
